Spring is here and we have so many things in the works that are scheduled to make their big reveals in the coming months of 2016! This includes new international partners to exciting new television shows! However, before we get to all that, I’d like to thank our magazine team for exceeding expectations once again on our spring Issue. Laura knows how much I love aviation and the inner child in me was very excited when she brought Chartright to the cover. Our goal every issue is to raise the bar each and every time and I think we’ve done it again! These are just a few of the gems that await you inside. As for the luxury market: Our first quarter at Cayman Marshall is up almost double from last year and we’re tracking for another record breaking season. A strong GTA market, low interest rates and growing demand from international buyers are all a part of what’s driving our sales this year. We are starting to see more sales before launch, more multiple bids and a lack of land supply in the desirable parts of our lakes continue to drive prices upward - you’ll hear almost every Realtor in Muskoka say “they aren’t making any more waterfront around here!” Enjoy all that Muskoka has to offer this spring! Without the proper tools to weed out the negative messages that are being sent to them, many young people navigate through their lives feeling “useless, worthless and insignificant”. Light Up Your World™ is a program that seeks to help young people understand that their value does not depend on what others think or say about them.

that message is reinforced in many ways through demonstrations, personal stories and lots of interactive games. By the end students understand their incredible power to make choices, create change and to live out their purpose and destiny!! Students are encouraged to make a plan creating the kind of world they wish to live in and then break it down into small tangible actions that students can then execute.

LIGHT UP YOUR WORLD™ IS NOW IN MUSKOKA THANKS TO THE GENEROUS SUPPORT OF COMPANIES SUCH AS CAYMAN MARSHALL INTERNATIONAL REALTY! The brainchild of Lisa and Migual Sanchez, Light Up Your World™ started several years ago after their sons were often recognized in their school for displaying great leadership and courage in standing up to the injustices they saw around them. These special brothers were asked to teach these same skills to other students in hopes that they would also be positive influences within their school essentially empowering them to be world changers. The result was a program for Grade 7 and 8 students to bring a message of empowerment and value to the youth in their area which has eventually grown internationally to become the Light Up Your World™ organization. “It wasn’t something we ever intended but is something we simply love to do”, says Lisa. “We love seeing youth finally understand the value they have - to stop believing the lies and negative messages being sent to them and to be empowered to live out their purpose and destiny. We’ve had many students over the years tell us ‘You saved my life’. We even had a student write us a letter telling us that he was comtemplating suicide when he attended the program and that Light Up Your World™ had

saved his life! This has happened many times over the years”, says Lisa. Initially students are asked if they’d like to share a label that “society” has placed on them – “stupid, fat, ugly” are some of the responses heard by all. As the session rolls along, the students are told they have the power to make a choice and the power to make a change, that each one of them has immense and incredible value and that everyone has the SAME EXACT value. We are born with value and there is nothing we, or anyone else, can do to take that away from us. It’s a powerful message. Perhaps one of the most poignant moments of the program is the “$20 bill demonstration”. A $20 bill is held up for the students to see – the presenter takes the $20 bill and proceeds to fold it in half, crumple it up and then throw it on the floor and stomp on it. Each time the question is asked “How much is this bill worth?” Each time the response is the same. “$20 dollars.” “This powerful message leaves the students speechless and really resonates with them”, says Miguel Sanchez. It’s really the heart of the program and

Time is our most precious commodity. Most of us want to enjoy as much of it as we can with friends and family. Nobody wants to spend it jammed in gridlock or standing in an airport line and stressing out about making your flight on time. When you decide to travel by chartered air service you’re buying time and control. “There’s no uncertainty about when you’re going to get to your destination,” says Adam Keller, President at Chartright Air Group. In addition to offering on-demand private jet charter and management services, Chartright

offers helicopter service to the Muskoka region during summer months. “If you can leave from the city at three o’clock, you’re going to be on your property in Muskoka by 3:45”, says Adam. Once seen strictly as extravagance, Adam says there’s been an increasing trend in recent years towards using charter flights as a viable option to traditional commercial air travel. Anxiety and air travel have always tended to go hand in hand. The stress starts before you even leave your front door, and once you’re on the road it only gets worse. Traffic congestion, finding a parking spot, check-in lines, Customs – take too

long with any of them and you could be watching your flight leave from the terminal window. “You show up two or three hours beforehand, and whether it’s a family vacation or a business trip you have no idea what you’re going to encounter when you fly out of an international airport,” says Adam. “You could have lines that are an hour long. You’re going to miss your flight if something goes wrong.” Flying privately cuts that anxiety level down to virtually zero. There are no lines, no early check-in and none of the shoesliquids-and-laptops-into-the-bin that come with the standard security check.


“There’s a one-minute check-in time. You walk into the airplane like you get into your car and you go,” says Dave Shaver, Chartright’s Vice President of Sales. “The helicopter can take you anywhere there’s an 80 foot by 80 foot open flat piece of land. In many instances we do direct flights right to people’s front lawns,” says Dave. “If not, we’ll land on a nearby golf course, with prior permission. We’ve landed at Windermere; we’ve landed near Clevelands House.” Chartright also frequently flies international clients into the Muskoka Airport. “Muskoka has Customs now and we actually have a number of clients who fly directly into Muskoka airport,” say Dave. “Generally speaking, Customs often comes onto the plane and it takes about five minutes. They look at passports and then you’re on your way.” It’s conveniences like this which are increasingly making private flights such an appealing offer. What if you’re only able to book two seats together for your family of four? What if your neighbouring passenger is a little loud, sick or far too big to squeeze into the seat behind you? There’s a long list of potential airline inconveniences. Many of them have to do with travelling in close proximity to complete strangers, and all of them are tied to economy. “Airlines around the world have evolved into efficient mass movers of people,” says Adam. “Squeezing more and more people into an airplane helps the airline reduce fares. That represents value for those who are willing to suffer some inconvenience and some cattle-like logistics.”

THERE’S BEEN AN INCREASING TREND IN RECENT YEARS TO WA R D S U S I N G C H A R T E R FLIGHTS AS A VIABLE OPTION TO TRADITIONAL COMMERCIAL A I R T R AV E L . That’s fine for some, says Adam, but not for everyone. Most people want to start their trip relaxed – not anxiously watching the clock or running around an airport. Sometimes travellers are headed to an event which demands punctuality that can’t be compromised. “Sometimes you can live with the stress, but missing your connection is going to mean a complete disaster,” says Adam. “Today, more and more people are willing to buy a service feature that an airline can’t sell you – they want to buy control.” That means control over your departure time, line-ups, security, seating and travelling companions. It means you don’t have to worry about whether there’s room in the overhead compartment or if your bags are going to make the trip with you. “With us, your bags either go right on the plane with you or they go as external baggage, which in many cases is accessible from the cabin. You can actually get to your bags during the flight if you want to,” says Adam. “We offer so much control

over your flight that you can literally walk to the cockpit and ask the captain how the flight is progressing.” The departure process with a charter flight is entirely different than commercial air travel. For starters, you pick the departure time that best suits your schedule. See the kids off to school, avoid rush hour or schedule to arrive at your destination for exactly the right time. “Let’s say your meeting runs long and you’re half an hour late. Relax, the plane won’t leave without you,” says Adam. When you get to the airport your car will be marshalled right to the side of the plane. You simply climb aboard and take off. Once you touch down, Customs boards the plane, you hop off the plane and get into a waiting car with your bags in the trunk. “In most cases you’re leaving the airport 10 minutes after your jet touches down,” says Adam. “The entire flight experience was in your control. There’s no stress, no surprises and the only crying babies are the ones you brought with you.” When you can offer a client that type of control, the flight goes from being a necessary evil to being an eagerly anticipated part of the journey. “It also gives it a much broader appeal,” says Adam. “Our clients are everyone: businessmen and women, families on vacation, ladies on tennis trips, parents visiting their children at school and guys going out to a baseball game.” The much maligned private jet isn’t an overindulgence for the pampered, says Adam, and these days it can be used as a tool for corporations to move staff and executives efficiently from one location to another. “Hiring a private aircraft has an extravagant sound to it, but a lot of people look at it like hiring a sedan to take you to the airport, a guide to take you fishing or a co-ordinator to get your group through a tour,” says Adam. “It’s just one more element of organization.” Rob Robinson, Supervisor of charter sales and service, says while a chartered flight can get costly, once you factor in up to eight or nine people on the flight it begins to become a lot more cost effective. “Hiring a private jet is a lot like buying a car,” says Rob. “The question is how much car do you need?” Chartright offers a range of aircraft that are suitable for virtually every type of trip. Rob sends out regular e-mail blasts outlining what’s available at charters@chartright.com and the interest has peaked over the past few years. “We get everybody from billionaires to newbies,” he says. “Everybody likes getting a good deal.”

There is always someone available at Chartright for assistance, and Rob says the operations department works 24/7. He says the reason most people choose Chartright is because of the integrity of the company and its employees. “It’s all about building relationships. There’s a huge trust factor involved in this business,” says Rob. “Transparency is extremely important, and we make it a priority to let people know exactly what’s going on at all times.”


Chartright has bases all across the country, with the largest at Pearson International in Toronto. During their 30 years of service they’ve become the largest service provider of their kind in the country. Chartright doesn’t own the aircraft they supply, they are independently owned and Chartright supplies the pilots, the insurance, the hangar and take care of all the regulatory compliance. They charge a management fee and then when the owners aren’t using the aircraft, they charter them out and give the owner revenue from that rental. Many of those aircraft owners have residences in Muskoka, and so does company president Adam Keller, who’s on Kahshe Lake. Dave also spent his summers growing up at the family cottage on Lake Rosseau and has fond memories of exploring the bays and waterskiing on Rosseau or cruising to Clevelands House for dinner. He says he loves that he’s able to keep such a strong connection with Muskoka while working at Chartright, and that he can help put people where they want to be safely and quickly. “For people who have a place in Muskoka, it’s a huge part of their lives,” says Dave. “We can offer them more control and better use of their time so they can spend more of it doing what matters most.”

LOVE AFFAIR WITH AVIATION T H AT C O N T I N U E S T O T H I S D AY.

hroughout the fairer months of the year, you can regularly find planes taking off from many of the lakes or smaller airstrips that dot the region, but the hub of aviation activity is undoubtedly the Muskoka Airport. The airport was built in 1933 as a make-work project during the Depression. At the time, a man and a team were paid $1 per day, plus keep, to help clear and level the landing strip. The first airplane landed at Reay Airport (named after what was then known as Reay Township) in 1935. In 1938, the Reay Airport was officially re-named the Muskoka Airport. During the Second World War, the airport was more commonly known by another name – Little Norway. When Nazi Germany attacked Norway on April 9, 1940, with only a small number of modern aircraft on order from US manufacturers taken on charge, the Royal Norwegian Air Force was unable to mount a sustained defense. In an effort to train what remained of the decimated Norwegian Air Force, the first Little Norway training facility was established in Toronto, and later moved to the Muskoka Airport in 1942. From then until February 1945, Little Norway trained 2,000 pilots, crew and ground crew. For three years, the Norwegian personnel were an integral part of Muskoka life. The training continued at Muskoka until February 1945, when the camp was moved to the air base at Winleigh in Devon, England. Many major events have taken place at the airport over the years, including the first Muskoka International Air Show in 1984. The airport also provided a landing location for some of the most powerful leaders in the world during the G8 Summit

in 2010. This little airport has also welcomed many celebrities and even royalty over the years – Prince Andrew touched down in Muskoka en route to attending a celebration at his Alma Mater in Peterborough. Far from the hidden gems they once were, the lakes in Muskoka have become just as famous as a second home for the elite as they have for fishing and swimming. In recent years, various Hollywood and sports stars have built or vacationed at Muskoka retreats, including Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Mike Weir, Martin Short, Justin Bieber, Cindy Crawford, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. Just like Chartright, the Muskoka Airport continues to grow with the times, and to host the most impressive “elite” guests offering the greatest “little” airport around. Muskoka and its people have been attracting the attention of Europeans, Americans and other international air travellers since its conception and continues to bring foreign investors into our community. Tourism has become Muskoka’s far and away number one industry, and air travel is increasingly becoming the way guests are getting here. It’s estimated that the airport brought roughly $31.3 million into the Muskoka economy in 2005. That includes everything from land and building lease rates at the airport to landing fees, fuel purchases, to indirect benefits like guests spending their dollars at hotels and restaurants throughout the district. Currently this “little” airport is discussing an expansion to facilitate commercial air flights. Commercial flights will increase Muskoka tourism and allow the community an opportunity to maximize its assets and create year round reliable employment with the developing infrastructure required to support these decisions. EVER SINCE THE FIRST SETTLERS VISITED MUSKOKA THEY HAVE HAD TO CONTEND WITH HOARDS OF MOSQUITOES TAKING AIM AT PEOPLE’S BODY PARTS.

With countless bodies of water surrounding the townships throughout Muskoka, there are plenty of breeding grounds for these nasty, blood-sucking creatures.

The strong scent created by garlic is a great way for individuals to keep away mosquitoes and now a product is available from Earth Elements which utilizes the savoury delicacy.

However, a naturally growing food in Ontario has long been a weapon for people against the flying menaces.

Earth Elements owner Bill Kilpatrick says the all-natural Mosquito-Less™ distilled pure garlic oil worked wonders on several properties in Muskoka last year. He says

there are other garlic-based products on the market that used garlic juice but they are not as effective. Mosquito-Less™ is an extremely potent and highly concentrated garlic oil product which Kilpatrick is certain will work at any property.


Mosquito-Less™ is also the only commercial garlic oil product with Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency approval. Earth Elements is an irrigation and landscape specialist company which received a request from a client regarding the use of garlic spray to combat a very bad mosquito issue. “We used it on our property in Port Sydney,” says Jennifer Armishaw, whose family was forced inside due to an overwhelming number of mosquitos. “The product was amazing - the mosquitos were so bad (last) year that the kids couldn’t play outside and we couldn’t enjoy our hot tub. We had eventually talked to Bill to see if there was anything we could do!”

Mosquite-less prevents mosquitos from searching out and feeding on, for lack of better terminology, their victims.

Bill immediately sprayed the property’s perimeter with Mosquito-Less™ with great success. The garlic smell was intense for several hours but dissipated over time.

“Mosquitos only travel within 200 metres of where they’re born,” says Kilpatrick. “Once you take away that area around your house, they stay away from that area.”

“We noticed an immediate effect,” she recalls. “Previously, we couldn’t enjoy our outdoor space but afterwards you couldn’t see a mosquito anywhere! One

Areas treated include trees, gardens, lawns, fences, out buildings and low areas with the garlic oil. Rain and irrigation may diminish the garlic oil effectiveness. Still, in the case of standing water areas like ponds, Kilpatrick offers mosquito dunks which are basically little discs that can be popped into the water. Combined with Mosquito-Less™, the dunks can have a hand in a virtual mosquito-free spring and summer. “They stop the larva from growing,” he says of the dunks. “It’s a two-stage thing. Take care of most of them when they’re still larva, then hit them with the garlic spray! If you’re having a special event, we’re on the scene a couple days before, with the treatment typically lasting up to 4 weeks.” One can only hope that next on the agenda will be to destroy those nasty black flies!!!! LAKE ROSSEAU RETREAT By Sandy Lockhart A Lake Rosseau project by International Landscaping Inc. was recently recognized with the prestigious 2016 Landscape Ontario Award for the most outstanding landscape construction project in Ontario. The award-winning property features hundreds of newly planted mature trees, a vanishing edge pool, gorgeous granite hardscaping, a sky-view sport court and much more, all designed to work with a sophisticated, modern cottage on a beautiful piece of natural Muskoka shoreline. “We were overjoyed to see that our hard work and dedication to creating one-of-a-kind landscapes not only exceeded our client’s expectations, but was also worthy of such an incredible honour from our peers in the Landscape Ontario community,” says Mike Flint, landscape designer and consultant for International Landscaping Inc. International Landscaping earned two of the top Landscape Ontario Awards of Excellence for 2016. They took home the Dunington-Grubb award for best overall Landscape Construction Project for their “Lake Rosseau Retreat” and the Don Salivan Grounds Management Award – plus 13 others. These awards offer International the opportunity to compete in the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association’s national landscape award program later this year. “We consult, design, construct, manage, and maintain. We take care of all aspects of a project” explains Mike. “We have been fortunate to work with clients on some exceptional projects.”

Success is all about talking with a client, building a relationship and consulting with them so you can bring their ideas to fruition, he explains. It’s also about determining what the client wants, along with what is realistic. “We ask ‘How do you want to use your space?’’ explains Mike. “Are they family oriented? Do they entertain a lot? Are they looking for a private getaway for relaxing? We get a better sense of their expectations.” Then they look at the architectural style and interior of the house, assess the property and site challenges, and develop a design for the client. Through this process their team collaborates with other professionals such as architects, builders, engineers and planners to ensure nothing is missed. Next are revisions until the client is ready to move forward to construction. For the Lake Rosseau rereat, there was a sophisticated look that needed to blend into the natural setting. For example, the pool had flamed granite patios and strong lines. Barry Justus of Poolscape Inc. designed and built the extraordinary pool, which sits atop an underground bunker. “Bringing that formality into an environment that was natural and free-form, that required a special consideration, ” says Mike. The linear shape and steep incline of the Lake Rosseau property added challenge. “Being creative means pushing the boundaries a bit,” says Mike. “We used a lot of space without overpowering the environment. We worked it into the topography.”

The sports court, nestled into the hill on one side with a 30- to 40-foot drop on the other, was a creative solution for a property with limited space. By locating the sport court on top of the garage, the aptly named ‘Sky-court’, offers spectacular views to the lake below. There were often 15 to 20 International Landscaping staff on site during the project, but there could be as many as 100 trades and associated professionals there too. “We pride ourselves in exceptional project management. It’s a full service we provide to our client,” says Mike. “There is a certain process that needs to be followed, and we work with the client’s team through the varying stages of design and construction to ensure the quality of the project is maintained at the highest level.”

More trees were on site at the end than at the beginning of the project. “Hundreds of mature trees, hundreds of saplings, hundreds of shrubs and thousands of perennials were brought in,” says Mike adding that many were indigenous species. “It took quite a bit of work, especially when those mature trees were brought in by crane, but it created a mature look with exceptional privacy.” The Lake Rosseau landscape design can be enjoyed day or night. “There is quite a bit of lighting, but it is dark-sky friendly” says

Mike. “In the sense that a house would have different rooms, the landscape is divided up for different uses.” He lists an almost hidden area by the sports court, outdoor dining spaces near the kitchen, the pool lounge and several fire pits. While they are proud of the award, the team at International Landscaping knows their gorgeous Lake Rosseau project is a success. “Wherever you are on the property, there is a way to enjoy it at any time of the day,” says Flint.

Muskoka real estate specialist Todd Adair has returned to Cottage Life Television’s popular series What’s for Sale? With a View for a second season. Cayman Marshall Owner/President Todd pulls out all the stops showing his clients properties to match their dreams and desires. This year he’s the host of all Ontario shows, starting in Muskoka. Viewers will see some incredible Muskoka cottages and properties, as they follow a buyer on his search for his perfect Muskoka retreat. This season, Simon is a client who wants to find a place that is serene, peaceful and quiet but offers lakefront activities too. For this single dad with two young children, his dream property is a place with a private lake with lots of acreage and pristine lake views. It will be his legacy – something his family can enjoy for generations.

Todd takes him on a search for a private lake and delivers. In fact, he offers three incredible choices, including one property with two very different lakes. The owner is left with the tough choice of which lake to purchase. To see a property with an 850-acre lake with 12,000 feet of shoreline from the best possible vantage, they arrive by helicopter. The bird’s eye view works. “Coming in by helicopter just really showed off the size of that property,” says Simon. Todd says viewing that site by hiking and ATV would have taken at least three days. “That place deserved the helicopter ride in, just to see the sheer magnitude and size of that property,” he says. “There would have been no other way to see it except coming in by air. We were able to trace the shoreline.” Visiting properties by helicopter is a service Adair uses for some clients. It’s also an important part of the series What’s for Sale? With a View. Muskoka’s lakefront and larger multi-acre properties’ forests, creeks, granite outcrops and spectacular cottages can often be more easily appreciated from the air.

“It’s one of my surprises for you,” he often says, showing off a feature of the listing that he’s especially excited about – on this show – often the view. The show What’s for Sale? With a View takes three days to shoot. “They are long days but we have a great team and producer,” he says. “They make it fun.” Todd says Cayman Marshall has plans to continue with more television shows in the future. “We have some exciting surprises for next year”, he says. “We are definitely moving forward with television.” Cayman Marshall serves buyers from around the world, introducing them to the beauty and allure of Muskoka. Adair likes to wow clients. “Wait until you see this,” he is heard to say as he shows Simon a feature he will appreciate. It might be a private island in a private lake, an amazing screened room for morning coffee or a place with views that never end.

Four years ago, myself and three eager and energetic colleagues, opened the doors of Cayman Marshall for the very first time. Some of you may remember that these were turbulent times in the market. Terrorisim was on the rise and it seemed like every time something went wrong in the world, our buyers would freeze! Many predicted we wouldn’t last a year, especially in such a competitive market. Our skeptics said we couldn’t start our own brokerage based on a “team model” and many said we certainly couldn’t start our own brand, create our own magazine or succeed in the Port Carling market. Fortunately these people were wrong. Myself, and every single person on the team proved them wrong. Together, we have solidified our brand in two magnificent locations as we enter our third year with what is now one of Muskoka’s most successful magazines.

While considering this editorial I was watching a children’s movie called “The Jungle Book” and I was inspired by this quote: “For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.” This seemed to say what I was feeling perfectly. TODD ADAIR* President/Sales Representative Todd made a name for himself in real estate back in 2011 when in Todd’s first year of selling, he earned the spot as the #1 Remax agent in Muskoka. That motivated him to continue on and become President of Cayman Marshall International Realty in 2012. In 2013, he became the majority shareholder and recently decided to purchase the entire company and dedicate 100% of his efforts into taking Cayman Marshall to the next level. Todd has created, built, and sold various IT companies. Throughout his career, he has been known for breaking the mould and always moving against the grain – never satisfied with the ordinary but striving for excellence. Todd firmly believes that real estate isn’t about excelling at sales, but rather about being great at solving problems and caring for clients through exceptional service. In Todd’s down time you will find him buying, building, or renovating his own real estate projects, on the water wakeboarding and kite surfing, or hacking up the fairways of a local golf course. Todd’s most important job is being a husband and father to his family of four.

DAVE BEMMANN** Broker Growing up with a family cottage on the lake, Dave developed a strong passion for the Muskoka area. After graduating from the University of Guelph in 2006 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Dave’s focus then turned to his professional career as a commercial real estate broker in the GTA with Colliers. Dave spent eight years servicing clients in the Toronto area with expertise in industrial facilities. In 2013, one of North America’s largest landowners recruited Dave to join their acquisitions team. Dave’s career accelerated quickly as his team completed over $150 million in land acquisitions across North America. During this time he also managed a portfolio of 14,000 acres of development land in Ontario. He left the development industry to pursue his new goal of becoming a top selling real estate agent in the Muskoka area. His passion and commitment to customer service, professionalism and honest advice, provides his clients with an enjoyable and successful real estate experience in Muskoka.

CAT BROWN Office Administration Growing up in Waterloo, Cat was fortunate enough to spend all of her summers at her family cottage on Lake of Bays. Not wanting to leave the area, Cat chose to work at Lumina Resort to continue to spend her summers in Muskoka. After graduating from Conestoga College in Business Administration Marketing, she moved north and started working for Pride Marine Group. Travelling around Muskoka with Pride gave her the opportunity to build relationships and expand her knowledge on the lakes. Cayman Marshall has sought after Cat for her enthusiastic, positive attitude and is proud to have her act as our Real Estate Deal Secretary and Customer Service Representative. STEVE HADDOCK* Sales Representative As a child, Steve spent summers at the family cottage in the Almaguin Highlands, which fostered his love of cottage country. Prior to selling real estate, he has built or renovated over a dozen personal properties, including cottages on Lake of Bays and Lake Muskoka while working in Operations within the Electrical Utility Industry and then as a Sales and Marketing Executive for a medium-sized engineering firm. He has extensive experience in design, build and development of properties in Toronto and Muskoka. Steve is best described as a strong relationship builder, honest, with an extreme dedication to customer service. He has a passion for cottage architectural and interior design and is very familiar with many of the lakes in the Muskoka Region and their associated building by-laws. He maintains residences in Toronto and on Lake Muskoka and has close ties to both communities. His hobbies include running, cycling, golf and boating.

JEFF LIDDLE* Sales Representative Jeff grew up cottaging in Muskoka and understands the desire that ultimately drives buyers to this wonderful place he calls home. After working in the golf industry for some time, Jeff turned his focus back to his entrepreneurial sales roots and has been selling Muskoka fine homes and cottages for the past 7 years. Jeff’s honesty, attention to details, determination and ‘stay-the-course’ style has brought much success to his clients. Whether its guiding through the Muskoka waterways or landscapes, Jeff is always dedicated to finding his clients their dream property.

KRISTIN McCREA Office Manager/Personal Assistant to Todd Adair Kristin started with our Brokerage in the spring of 2015, bringing with her a high level of energy and enthusiasm dedicated to any task put before her. As Todd’s personal assistant, she oversees, a variety of real estate contracting and building projects, media relations for real estate TV shows, assistant in Cayman Marshall, The Muskoka Collection, office management and bookkeeping, including: accounts receivable and payable. Kristin’s 10 years’ experience in operations and retail management has proven essential for the daily needs of both the Huntsville and Port Carling offices. At home, Kristin is happily married and enjoys her two exceptionally active young sons; enjoying all of the outdoor activities that Muskoka has to offer! Kristin’s dedication and high level of commitment to everything she does is complimentary to Cayman Marshall’s High standards for excellence!

MEGAN McLEOD** Broker Even though Oakville was home to Megan, she fell in love with the Muskoka area and was looking for a profession that would enable her to live and play here permanently. In 1996 she left her sales position with Xerox to indulge her passion for interior design and Muskoka Living. In 2000, Megan entered the real estate profession where she was able to develop her exceptional sales ability and her creative side into an award-winning career as a top-producing Real Estate Broker. With her vast knowledge of the industry and area, it made sense that she would then take her experience to the next level and co-found a Real Estate Brokerage, Cayman Marshall. The last few years have been rewarding as she was part of the original team that built a successful Brokerage. But her savvy sales and marketing experience was leading her back to where her heart was – back into sales. Megan is now focusing on selling and staging Muskoka properties and loving it! LAURA MORRISON* Sales Representative/Editor After vacationing in Muskoka throughout her life, Laura decided to make Muskoka her permanent home and moved from Oakville with her family in 2012. With her charismatic demeanor, knowledge of the industry and her passion for people, Laura became a licensed Realtor.
