What is Cayman Made? Cayman Made is an exciting new programme developed by the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce to support entrepreneurs who create, manufacture, assemble and sell products locally. The Cayman Made value resides in the promotion of a unique brand personality. That, in turn, is established by association of positive qualities that are integral to the membership. Cayman Made represents the sum of all the unique ideas expressed as products and designs by members. The core concept is creation. The essence of Cayman Made is the value of intellectual property – something unique, premium, created here, by local people. This accommodates fashion-designers, whose clothing designs may be assembled elsewhere, or visual artists, who might create a painting or photo here but then use overseas technology to reproduce it. But the concept also automatically includes most products that are manufactured and assembled here too, so that they may be given a special class – both created here (as intellectual property) and manufactured here. Value is also added by way of protection. Once it has been demonstrated that product has been created here, then the Cayman Made authentication helps protect against competition from other products unable to demonstrate such criteria.

What businesses can apply? Businesses that create, design, manufacture or assemble products locally, hold a valid trade and business licence.

Who reviews the application? Applications will be reviewed by a committee of the Chamber Council appointed by the President.


How will Cayman Made help my business? • • • •

Your product will be recognised as authentically created locally. Your product will be promoted extensively utilising the Chamber’s promotional platforms. Your product will be associated with an overarching brand personality that will motivate customers to purchase your product. Your product can use the Cayman Made brand in new markets at home or overseas.

What are the core benefits? •

Each member business benefits from association with an overarching, strong, Cayman Made brand personality that can represent your product. Each member benefits from association with the other members under the Cayman Made umbrella –pertaining to uniqueness, quality assurance, and product integrity. Each member benefits from a network of local producers and creatives and can share in their experiences, suppliers, and services.

What will my business receive if accepted? • • • •

The right to use the Cayman Made logo on all your packaging and promotional material – providing customers with assurance associated with the brand. Your business will be listed on the Cayman Made website with a photograph and description. Your business will be invited to participate in Cayman Made promotional events and activities such as product demonstrations and trade shows, locally and abroad. Regular updates about your product will be posted to the website and shared on social media.

What is the investment? There is a refundable CI$75.00 application fee (if the application is declined) and an annual subscription based on the category that matches your business.
