Siziwan

If you want to see the first sunrise of the year in Taiwan, you'd go to Taidung. If you want to see the last sunset of the year, you'd come to Siziwan!

Located in Sun Yat-sen University, Siziwan is a bay that faces Taiwan Strait, having been served as a commercial port for decades. From time to time, huge cargo boats would drive through slowly, and it became a special scene for tourists and visitors to anticipate. At dusk, people would gather along the stone railing beside the sea to get a fantastic view of sunset. These gaps in the railing are named “Lovers Caves” or “Carrot Pits” because only two people can fit in, and it has made Siziwan a romantic place to visit.
