5034N has made a ton of friends throughout her life and it is no question why. A female that took our attention right off the get go, and it was decided very early in life that she was special and would be a female we would like to promote.

5034N is so massive centred, chested, boned and footed. But yet with all this mass and volume she is still so well constructed, smoothy tied together and absolutely effortless on the move. She is great haired and one we think would be really competitive next fall as a bred on the show circuit, but still has all the right pieces to produce those high volume sons and look good doing it. Mothered by another great young Rose cow, we sold a feature son in last year’s bull sale. We can’t say enough good about the Rose daughters. Sons have sold to Griffin Zalluski and Bull Rush Ag

HORNER CATTLE CO.

Every year we like to highlight a few heifer calves of the highest caliber. While things do look different this year, these are truly the cream of the crop!

HFL 5080N is a female we were struck on from the get go. A female so massive in her build, heavy and round muscled, bold sprung and stands on a large foot. While being so massive she is still so smoothy made, balanced, and carries that volume right down to her lower 3rd, forebag and heart.

Her quality is no accident and time again the 2 full sisters (1016J and 1035J) sold in our $42,000 pick have out produced themselves and every year progeny finding themselves at the top of their pens.

He then found his home out in BC at Reanne Sandford and Nate Marin’s place. Other sons have sold to Steppler Farms and Clint Robertson.

Milking daughters of both females have dropped beautiful udders and are excelling in production, we have them slotted to be corner stone females and future donors. This deep rooted quality and consistency is a staple of the Rose cow family, and solidifies our absolutely confidence in 5080N as a breeding piece and a production female. We have had great success flushing both full sisters 1016J and 1035J, with 1035J averaging 14 grade 1 embryos per flush.

We have really liked the No Limits progeny and feel they are curve benders in terms of performance. An extra shot of frame, muscle and rib in these No Limits cattle really make them the cattlemen’s type and the linage of some great females make using No Limits a no brainer for us. 5102N has peaked our interest all summer, and every day just gets better and better. We like the added shot of frame and bone she possesses, stepping down on a solid square foot; a staple feature of her dam Bretta 461H who is arguably one of the best footed cattle we own. 5102N possesses a lot of look as well, and would look really good campaigned as a junior or 4-H project. Her attractive double goggle eyes, and extra neck extension tied into a smooth shoulder with the ability to move effortlessly make her a pleasure to watch. As well ample rib shape, volume and balance into her lower 3rd, 5102N will make for a very interesting breeding piece. Second In class at Ag Ex.

JUNIOR INCENTIVE

If these females happen to sell to young breeders we want to help these young people start off on the right foot. We at Horner Cattle Company, are offering development and breeding of these females, and are opening up our tank to any of the bulls we would use ourselves. Development would be at cost and if you chose to breed your female to one of our bulls or ai sires, the service would be our gift to you. While we will take every precaution and treat these females as if they are still our own, females must be insured if you choose this and we assume no liability. We are also proud to host the Manitoba Simmental Field day August 8th 2026, and our entire sale group would like to offer any junior who purchases any of these cattle free entries to the field day.

It always really excites us when a first calf heifer knocks one out of the park on their first attempt at motherhood and 5039N’s mom did just that! 5039N garnered a lot of attention over the summer and was picked out as a favourite by a lot of visitors.

A female that possesses a lot of centre 1/3rd, balance, smoothness, hair, neck extension, a neat tidy skull and a ton of look, I think a junior would be thrilled to hang a halter on this one, and could be very dominate. We love this females mother and grand dam. Her grandam was selected as a feature from Riverpoint, a direct homo polled daughter of the great HPF 248D who has recently blazed a trail, and the great turnpike; it is no secret how much we like our turnpike cattle and the foot quality and size he sires is one of his greatest strengths. Throw in the great Walk this Way and the likes of the beautiful Iron Sugar and its no wonder we love 5039N’s mother so much.

This one is hard to part with, and in past years I’ve said no to selling almost every Heidi female we’ve had in efforts to build this great cow family. However, still having this females young mother in production and slotting her for the donor pen, and in efforts of putting our best foot forward we are offering up this great female.

4087M’s greatest strength is her beautiful moderate mother, who sports what is for us, a perfect udder. Luckily 4087M is a splitting image of her beautiful mother.

Moderate and super complete, 4087M is heavy round muscled, massive ribbed, beautiful fronted and skulled, and is dropping a gorgeous udder much like her mothers. Relative to her frame size, she is massive footed and boned and is certainly one built for the long haul, profitability and efficiency. With the likes of High Roller, Bentley, Cobra, and Tula in the mix it would be wise to keep all of her daughters and build a Heidi cow family of your own.

This was a female we initially had no intention of selling, with an early service and being the splitting image of her mother RLD 433E, the dam of our $51,000 Mindgame bull, the logical thing would be to retain her for our own benefit. Instead the opportunity is yours.

Volume, balance, mass and hair sums this one up perfectly. We really like the way this one is constructed. Smooth shouldered, pretty skulled, adequate extension in her front 1/3rd, with depth and volume into her lower 3rd all the way from heart to fore bag, wide based and wide chested, but still travels so well and soundly. One that we think is hard to pick a hole in. Her service to Water Valley is one that really excites us, we are really looking forward to following this female in her new home!

Another lovely Bentley daughter. Not extreme in anyway, just a complete, soft made, well balanced, easy to look at and easy to like female. The Bentley’s have made really good cows for us, tidy uddered, super complete, easy fleshing and 4012M fits that mould. Her mother 33D is a cow who has done us well, with numerous daughters retained within our own herd.

This spring in our bull search we set out to find a homo black bull backed by a tremendous cow with incredible strength in udders and feet generation after generation. That led us to a tremendous Erica 74A son from our friends at Rideau Angus, he and his 2 other full brothers impressed us and we ended up owning him. We used him with absolute confidence on a group of purebred females. We are most excited to see the resulting progeny and inject the maternal strength that the famous Erica 74A is known for time and time again.

A little different breeding on this one, but we feel the resulting progeny will truly be the best of both worlds and we are excited to see how these progeny develop! Imagine breeding up from this incredible cow power and the strength of descendant females for generations to come.

As a gift we will open up our tank for you to choose any calving ease bull that we have in storage. Development will be at cost and your heifer must be insured if they are to remain here at KCH. We will take every precaution to treat your female with the same care and attention we give to all of our heifers, but we do not assume any liability.

Powerhouse! Pansy is packed with performance, muscle and is as deep a female that you will find. She is super quiet and will make a great junior show prospect for a first-time showman. Her sire SAV Territory consistently blends performance, muscle shape, and productivity. She will hang a halter and then become a real herdbull producer, just like her mother, a beautiful SOO Line Motive female that we love for her overall power, massive rib shape, maternal strengths and impressive productivity.

PUREBRED BLACK ANGUS - HOMO POLLED - HOMO BLACK

Standout! This young female will be a competitive show heifer with stylish look, explosive rib shape and wide hip. Her show ring style has gained attention from everyone that has walked through the prospect pen. She is a maternal sister to KCH Defender, who walks the pastures of Duralta Farms & Soderglen Ranches. We are incredibly impressed with his daughters, they have the front pasture look and outstanding udder quality that really grabs your attention. Her dam 903G is one of our absolute favorite brood matrons and is heading to the donor pen in the spring. We love the Annie K cow family, they are deep, broody females with exceptional productivity. 527N is sure to have the same massive rib shape, long level hip, and a picture perfect udder as her dam and will become one of your most treasured breeding pieces.

For many years Horner Cattle Company has had bred heifers on offer by private treaty, this is an exciting start to a new venue to offer our elite replacement bred heifers. We have been breeding and raising our own replacements for over 20 years, selecting for high quality growth, easy doing, easy fleshing, tidy uddered females. As everyone knows a lot of factors go into selecting females out of your program to go on and better your herd. Environment is a huge factor across the cattle industry, what works for one guy may not work for the next, and that’s what keeps the competition of the cattle industry interesting! We have selected these groups of females based on their specific traits, breed times, and sire groups to bring you 7 pens of what we think are very consistent females that work in our environment. These heifers are from the top of our replacement herd and if kept, would go on to become part of our embryo transfer program in our purebred herd, or be moved into the later calving program to calve out in our May June program. The 5 pens of early heifers were serviced by Homo Black calving ease sires. We invested heavily in our calving ease bull power this spring purchasing two sons with the genetics of Erica 74A, Coleman Glacier, Atlantis and Charlo on the Black Angus sires as well as purchasing a 1/2 Blood SimAngus from Rocky Meadow. The half blood bull is homo polled and homo black with definite calving ease features, he is a very impressive bull to see in person and look forward to his progeny in the future. With having both an early calving Jan Feb Program as well as a grass calving program in May June we can take advantage of two breeding seasons. The bulls were exposed for 30 days then pulled to give a distinct break in our calving windows. Heifers are then exposed to a bull later to catch any remaining cycling heifers for the start of may. Exact breeding windows will be listed with each lot. Heifers were preg checked early September and checked using ultrasound to allow us to estimate their gestation. A very consistent set of Black Simmental influence females, these three have a lot of length of spine and tons of volume! We are very happy how our black Simmental bulls are working on our cowherd, they are producing very strong boned, heavy set, good uddered, good haired cows. Last years reports of our sale breds were positive and reflected what we want to provide to the industry. We want to provide heifers that have no surprises, good udders, good attitude, strength of structure and do-ability is what is expected whether a heifer stays in our herd or sells into yours. Look to these 3 heifers as some of the best we have raised and put together as a group to sell. These ones are hard to part with!

A great set of black white faced heifers with a lot of look! These type of females have been at the front end of our replacement pen in the last few years. They go on to raise heavy weight steers that bring premiums straight off the cow in the fall. Mothers of these heifers have been fertile and are all in our recip program to raise purebred calves for next year. Look to these heifers to be easy keeping, easy to look at cows in the future.

A real nice group of sim influence heifers, these heifers are setting down really nice udders and have some real good cow power behind them. We have consistently raised our own replacements for many years and a lot of these heifers granddams are still in herd here. We like to produce cattle with longevity in mind and these heifers fit that type and kind with ease. Bred up to some very nice calving ease bulls these heifers should be problem free come calving time.

3 very maternally made heifers. We have used a Hereford bull as a 3rd cross in our Angus and Simmental cattle, they have consistently given us the highly marketable white face. The Hereford influence has given us strong made, good mothering and good uddered females. If these females were staying in our herd, they would go on to become suitable recipients under good care and management. Calve them out this year, expose them back for early January calving, keep good condition on them and you’ll be implanting them in no time.

A few less reds in the commercial program this year but quality is still high! This pair of red white-faced heifers are sure to lay down and be great mothers. Sisters sold in last years sale with good reports of heavy weaned calves and easy doing cows. Both heifers look to be setting down very square and uniform udders, bred to the homo black bulls the resulting calves will be black hided with hopes of having the money stripe!

A nice pair of black baldie heifers, caught to the new calving ease bull we purchased this past spring from Rocky Meadow Ranch. They will calve in the late exposure; we have had good luck with these late heifers calving out on grass pastures, they have good maternal instinct, and will get the calves out and going in no time. These two are sure to have maternal calving ease bred into their genetics with sires like Pitboss and Rip in their backgrounds. The Rocky bull has a small birthweight of 70 pounds and is smooth built like a heifer bull should be.

A pair of April/May calving heifers that would fit right in on our later calving program. We run two calving seasons with a split break between March 5th and April 25th. We are able to split up our calving for marketing options as well as use of the herd bull battery in two different breeding periods. Both mothers of these heifers are here doing a good
