OUR 3RD ANNUAL SALE Thank you for your interest in our Registered Hereford Bulls and Heifers. Hadley and I feel honored and blessed to be able to provide the quality of bulls and females in this sale today. We believe that you will find our cattle are just the kind you’re looking for. The bulls will be functional, thick-ended, big-boned, deep-ribbed, structurally correct, and are the kind that will add pounds to your bull calves and heifer calves that everyone will desire. The heifers will have the same qualities, but be very feminine and maternal just like their dams.

I was born into a ranching family in the Texas Panhandle. My father, Jiggs Mann, always had an excellent set of Herefords. This herd produced many champion Hereford steers, one Grand and one Reserve Grand at Texas major shows. Hereford cattle have changed some through the years, but my desire to own the right kind has not. My two sons Hadley and Colby developed the same love for good Hereford cattle as I did and they exhibited eight champion Herefords in Texas as well. Therefore it only seemed fitting for us to develop our herd into a seed stock registered herd. The herd has grown to the point that we now believe that we can offer to the rancher, in one setting, cattle that they can take home and be proud of.

The cattle are raised on native and improved grass pasture at Clarendon and Lubbock, TX. We use winter wheat pasture and native pasture to wean and develop our calves.

We have a private grow yard where we mainly grow purchased stocker calves but do develop our bulls in the final stages before sale time. As you will see our cattle are great converters and will maintain their shape when put to work.

These bulls have an excellent health program as all have been vaccinated three times for IBR, BBD, PI3, BRSVD, 7 Way, and been wormed most recently two months prior to sale with Safeguard. You can take these bulls home and turn them out.

SA LE T ERMS TERMS OF SALE Cash or Check. Cattle will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer shall settle any disputes as to bids. All cattle are to be paid for by the purchaser during or immediately following the sale and will not be released until after settlement has been made. Each animal will be at purchaser’s risk immediately after it is sold.

HEALTH The health of the cattle selling is excellent. Each animal will be accompanied by an individual health certificate for immediate interstate shipment. Bulls have been fertility and trichomoniasis tested as of September 2021. Scrotal circumference was recorded. Heifers are guaranteed to be bred and preg checked September 2021. Seller is not liable for bulls and heifers lost due to injury or death.

RETAINED INTEREST Mann Cattle Co. will retain a 1/2 semen interest on Lot 4 in the sale unless announced sale day different. Mann Cattle Co. reserves the right to collect semen at Mann Cattle’s cost and the buyer’s convenience. The interest retained will not affect your use or schedule. You will have 100% possession of the bull.

Cattle that we have fed in the area feedyards the past year that were sired by our Hereford bulls are as follows: PRIME: 12.80% CAB: 24.00% CHOICE: 60.00% SELECT: 4.00% AVERAGE YIELD: 63.64% Formula Advantage for our cattle was $6.38 cwt. which translates into $89.38 per head over the 3 state average USDA price for fat cattle.

As I will always say, the facts do not lie. You cannot go wrong with Mann Cattle Co. genetics in your herd. These cattle are fed by commercial feedyards in the area and were not terminally sorted as in the past years.

When this bull hit the ground, I knew he was a great one! This horned chunk of meat has been a fun one to watch mature. He is dark cherry red, has great eye pigmentation, bone like a cedar post, and is as wide as a gate.

The last two years have been such a humbling experience. Like most ranchers, having your first couple of sales is extremely stressful and exciting. Going into this, Dad and I had a smaller customer base and we were nervous about coming to south Texas to have our first big sale. I always knew there was a high demand for good Hereford cattle in the area and was hoping that we could move into the market.

I am extremely fortunate to say last year’s sale went better than we could have ever expected. We had an amazing opportunity to meet fellow ranchers, go through each pen, and talk about cattle. If anyone knows me well, you know it’s hard to get away when I start talking good stock with good stockman. It has been such a blessing to have a third sale due to the success of the first and second.

With that being said, we would like to say thank you to all of the buyers that bought cattle or attended the 2020 bull sale. You will never know how thankful and honored we feel to be able to follow our passion and sell quality animals to quality people.
