Teenager Girl Dies At Local High School After Overdosing On Drugs

The Los Angeles Police Department and media reports indicate that one girl died and two others were hospitalized Wednesday due to drug overdoses. Lt. John Radtke, LAPD investigator, reported Tuesday night that a 15-year-old girl had been found dead in the girls bathroom of Helen Bernstein High School in Hollywood. Radtke told Fox 11 that another girl and a teenage boy were also hospitalized. Radtke said all of them were drug overdose victims. As Radtke reported, the teenagers purchased fentanyl-laced Percocet. Death and overdose investigations are being conducted by LAPD detectives from the West Bureau’s Homicide Unit. In an overdose investigation at around 9 p.m., LAPD Hollywood officers responded to the scene of a missing stepdaughter’s overdose. A parent told police his stepdaughter had been overdosing on drugs when she told her stepfather her friend was inside the girls’ bathroom. Fox 11 reported that the couple bought Percocet (an opioid pain reliever), ingested a pill, and started feeling ill almost immediately. In an attempt to revive the victim, paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department were called. According to LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes, the other 15-year-old girl was in stable condition when she was taken to the hospital.
