Robert John "Mutt" Lange unexpectedly rose to prominence as one of country music's most talked-about producers in the middle of the 1990s. In the studio, he spent years developing his craft, creating the sounds for some of rock music's most popular albums in the 1970s and '80s. The Woman In Me, the second album by his wife and rising country star Shania Twain, was shaped by Lange using that established creative vision.

Lange won numerous Grammy Awards as a result of the success of that 1995 album and her genre-defying international single Come On Over 12 months later, making him one of the topselling producers of the time.

The music Lange and Twain produced together is frequently recognized as his most well-known work, even though their personal and artistic connection ended in 2008. You might be shocked to learn how many important rock albums he contributed to creating from 1970s.

Here are some great rock recordings by Mutt Lange that you may not be familiar with:

A few months before the album's release, the lead singer Bon Scott tragically passed away, coinciding with the beginning of AC/DC's ascent to widespread commercial success.

3. Hysteria, Def Leppard

With the 1987 release of Hysteria, Def Leppard's fourth studio album, the British rock group created magic. The aggressive, futuristic-inspired sound of the record won over rock enthusiasts all over the world. Hysteria reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 and sold more than 20 million copies worldwide thanks to Lange's innovative hit singles and productions like "Pour Some Sugar on Me."

Relationship with Shania Twain

When Mutt Lange contacted Shania in 1993 after listening to tracks from her maiden album, they first became acquainted. Shania's career soon took off once the two began working together.

About half a year after they initially met, their connection become amorous, and in December 1993, they got married. Shania and Mutt welcomed Eja, which sounds like "Asia," as their lone child in 2001. He's currently 21 years old.

According to AARP, Shania feared her career was ended when she was diagnosed with dysphonia in 2003 and instead focused on raising her daughter Eja in Switzerland as her voice cords started to weaken.
