What Season Are You In?

When it comes to the four seasons you can always feel what is in the air. The coolness, the heat, color of leaves, smells, usually indicate what season we are entering. Ads and stores,(which are always earlier), let you know what season we are entering next, as we see the change of decorations, or clothes. Let’s talk about seasons in our life.

Anytime we experience an old door closing and a new one opening, can mean a new season. Perhaps we feel stagnant as if things are never changing and we are stuck in a season, or we may question why and is there a purpose or lesson to learn here while going through this season in life.

There are many seasons in life and all are different for each of us. From a child, to school years, career, marriage, and raising a family. From the empty nest season, to becoming grandparents and feeling like you are reliving the season of raising kids. You may be in the season of becoming a caretaker to one or both of your parents, the season of retirement, or season of endless days of doctors and medical advice. You can be in the season of a death of a spouse, feeling like having to start all over again, or re-inventing yourself.

It can be a time to focus on the road between temporary vs. the eternal as our season here on earth may be closing. Our choice of where we will spend eternity should always be at the forefront, not just when we are heading toward the end of this life here. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens.” Life is like a school we are going through. We may fail or pass depending on what we learn and our attitude as we are going through it.

The main thing is though, if we have truly put our life into the Lord’s hands, we are never going through it alone. With every season, turn, open door, or closed door. He is with us through it all. As everything is constantly changing from one day to the next on this roller coaster called life, there is One who never sleeps or slumbers, and One who never changes but remains the same rock that we can hold on to. He is never surprised or thrown for a loop when we feel things are out of control. When the future looks a mystery to us, it is good to know the One who has been there already. If you are going through a storm or unknown season in your life, you never have to go through it alone, I encourage you today to reach out to the One who is reaching out to you right now to save you and be your rock and anchor to hold on to when everything and everyone is changing around you.
