Give Thanks Every Day

We have so much to be thankful for this year. If you are reading this article, then you have breath in your body, and that alone is reason enough to praise Him. We should begin every day praising Him! I have several shirts that say, “But first, coffee,” and I understand that because I love my coffee. However, before coffee, you and I need Jesus. He should be first in every season, especially during this Thanksgiving season. Thanksgiving is not just a day in November where we eat a lot of turkey, watch football on television, and get great deals at the mall on Black Friday; Thanksgiving should be every day in the heart of a believer.
The year 2020 has been unique. It is definitely unlike any that we have ever experienced before. However, how much more should we be thankful that God has brought us through this difficult time? Even in days of uncertainty, He has remained steadfast and faithful. As we are closing out the remaining months of 2020, beginning today, I would like to challenge you to begin thanking Him for His moving in your life and for your circumstances coming into alignment with His promises. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” The current circumstances in your life haven’t caught God by surprise or caused Him to be alarmed; He is with you! He is working all things for your good.
We have entered the time of year in which we celebrate the holiday called “Thanksgiving.” Today, this very moment, can be your day of Thanksgiving. Choose today to focus your attention on Jesus. What you stare at longest becomes strongest in your life. Refuse to be moved by contrary circumstances in your life and watch how God turns what the enemy meant for evil for your good. The Lord has been speaking to me about watching what I speak and my confessions. We need to speak by faith, declaring the promises of God.
The holiday season is often our busiest time of year. It is easy to lose our attention to the One who is worthy of all of our praise. We can get distracted by activities and even family, but we must prioritize Him this Thanksgiving.
I believe this will be your BEST season yet! Change your thinking, praise Him, and keep Jesus in the center of everything you do during this Thanksgiving season and every season of your life.
