RELAY FOR LIFE My experience in being part of Relay for Life was very interesting and heart warming. Just seeing people work together towards a cause gave me a understanding that there is hope for not only people fighting cancer, but also cancer survivors. During the event, we had a cancer walk which was to celebrate survivors. While these survivors walk the first lap, people were clapping and cheering them on. This really inspired me to never give up because these survivors went through so much and they still fought towards the end. There were also fun activities such as sports, water balloon fights, performances, and many more. I'm really thankful for the people that helped with building this even and also the American Cancer Society that created this event. Without them we wouldn't have a day to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and raise awareness. I hope that more people would get to experience this event next time. - Joyce Wong

Color Run The Color Run was an amazing experience that I'm extremely thankful to have been apart of. I did participate in the run itself and it was so much fun. Being able to run with my friends through a bunch of colors that landed on our shirts making them burst with a variety of different colors was just an unforgettable experience. They say that the Color Run is "the happiest 5K on this planet", and let me tell you that it definitely is. This one event was able to put thousands of smiles on people's faces and take them away from all their worries. Everyone was able to express what it is that they love about not only themselves but about others and the planet we all share. It celebrated healthiness, happiness, and individuality, and I do not regret attending this event at all! I cannot wait for the next year to get to experience this again. - Natalie Yu

QHSS X BAYSIDE POOL FUNDRAISER

It was an amazing experience to be able to support the QHSS X Bayside High School Pool Fundraiser. At the pool fundraiser, I was able to see a lot of new people from key club and outside of key club. Many people came to the fundraiser either because they wanted to play pool or they just wanted to come and support. Even though I only went for one and a half hour, I was sill able to have a lot of fun. I look forward to the next pool fundraiser - Cathy Yang

World Oceans Day Beach Clean Up The World Ocean Day Beach Clean Up event is an event that focuses on cleaning oceans and coastlines all over the world. Being cautious of how mcun people are destroying the environment, I decided to attendthis event in hopes to gain some information. This specific event at rockaway beach was to clean up garbage on the beach, when I arrived, there were thousands of people helping out and it was really nice seeing a community uniting to change the environment one step at a time. We were given gloves and bags and instructed to pick up garbage, in the end there was a huge pile of garbage from plastic bags, cigarette butts, and more. I wasso shocked to see how much was picked up just on the beach. It was a great way to become more environmentally aware! - Fenny Chen

Brain Tumor Walk The Brain Tumor Walk was an interesting and enlightening experience, as there were varying groups of people from survivors who have undergone chemotherapy to large groups of people to memorize their loved ones including young kids and adults, participated in this walk and never wavered in their fight against brain cancer. - Roy Lu

NYC PRIDE MARCH New York Pride March 2019 was significant to everyone in the LGBTQ+ community and those who supports the community. It was the 50th march which signifies the 50th anniversary of the StoneWall Riot. Seeing people come together, weather you're apart of the community or not, makes me extremely happy. All the rainbow, flags, colors, and smiles really brings out the pride in everyone. -Jingjie Ren
