GRADUATE 2022 DISTINGUISHED KEVIN RICHÉ “

Catholic High School announces the selection of Dr. Kevin Riché as the school’s Distinguished Graduate for 2022. Principal Lisa Harvey says the choice was easy, not only because of Dr. Riché’s dedicated service to CHS, but because he is the kind of role model that school leaders want for all students.

“Not only is Kevin a leader in his profession, but he consistently gives his time, talent, and expertise to serve others,” says Harvey. “We are grateful for his continued service to Catholic High School and the young men in our care, and we are incredibly proud to honor him with our 2022 Distinguished Graduate Award.”

Every year, each Catholic school in the Diocese of Baton Rouge selects an alumna/alumnus to recognize as their Distinguished Graduate. To be eligible, an individual must have a proven track-record of making significant impacts on their school, church, community, and country. Catholic High School chose Dr. Riché for his long-standing commitment to professional excellence, high values, excellent character, and service to the greater community – all of which are an integral part of the mission of Catholic schools.

A 1992 graduate of CHS, Dr. Riché currently serves as a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Baton Rouge area, specializing in the treatment of a variety of conditions including trauma, fractures, and hip and knee replacements – among others. He is a regional director and board member of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association. He also serves as a physician for Catholic High School’s wrestling and football teams, and has given his time and professional services for years to the athletes of CHS.

Dr. Riché attended St. George School for elementary and middle school. During his time at Catholic High School, he was a dedicated student-athlete lettering in wrestling for four years distinguishing himself as a city champion.

He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and obtained his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He completed his internship in orthopaedic surgery at Albert Einstein School of Medicine. Following that, he completed fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma at Harvard School of Medicine.

CHS administrators, faculty, and other community leaders, honored Dr. Riché at a special Distinguished Graduate Awards Dinner hosted by the Diocese of Baton Rouge on January 31. Dr. Riché was joined at the banquet by his wife, Dr. Cate Riché, his parents, Ken and Mary Lynn Riché, brother Kenny ’88 and his wife DeNea.
