Southeast Kansas Services Helps with Homelessness Prevention
Imagine your community implementing a “Stay at Home” order and you don’t have a home.
That’s the case for more than 600 individuals living in Crawford County, including 150 children.
Catholic Charities’ Southeast Kansas Services ministry focuses on household stabilization through rent and utility emergency assistance, resource navigation for mainstream benefits and financial literacy so that those on the brink of homelessness can stay in their home.
In addition, Catholic Charities serves homeless veterans and their families, and those overcoming domestic violence in an 11-county area of southeast Kansas through our Supportive Services for Veteran Families and SAFE Project ministries.
All three ministries are currently providing outreach services via telephone and online. Our offices have temporarily moved to Sacred Heart Parish in Frontenac; Southeast Kansas Services may still be reached by calling 620-235-0633.
