Each SYA school employs a host family coordinator who works closely with families and students to ensure safety, comfort and compatibility.

Over 90% of alumni list homestay as one of the top three most important components of SYA. Host family stipends account for approximately 22% of our schools’ operating budgets.

Since 1964, SYA students have cooked hundreds of thousands of paellas, crêpes, dumplings and pizzas with their host families . . . and counting!
