2 Studes Roxas SHS, JHS to receive bags awards in 43 M worth new buildings Pop Quiz By: Cristine Rose Bohol Razel A. Cariaga, Grade 10 Rizal (First Placer) and Jane Elkie R. Jabay, Grade 10 Bonifacio (Second Placer) of Roxas National High School won in district level Pop Quiz held at San Isidro Municipal Gym July 31, 2018 during the Culminating Activity of the Nutrition Month celebration. The contest was initiated to select a representative of San Isidro Municipality for the forthcoming Provincial level of Pop Quiz to be held at Surigao Provincial Gym. This was initiated by the Population on local Commission officer Mrs. Marites S. Bonono to give the youth an awareness about the current events of the society and importance of health and environment. Cariaga got the First Prize with P500.00 as reward

Roxas National High School has an on-going construction of new building projects for classrooms, science laboratory, computer laboratory and workshop building supported under Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) . Pursuant to Department of Education (DepEd) Order No. 35, s. 2017 (BEFF) is an annual budget of the Department for its School Building Program, which covers the improvement and maintenance of school facilities. It shall be utilized for the provision of classroom and workshop buildings, replacement of old dilapidated buildings, provision of furniture, repair and rehabilitation of classrooms, including heritage buildings, as well

as water and sanitation facilities, and electrification. According to Engr. Niel Espinedo, Division Engineer III of Siargao Division more than 43 million pesos is allocated budget to fund the said project. Meanwhile, the Senior High School has 2 storey classroom worth six million which was built year 2015. “Next month the two storey building which has four classrooms can be occupied and will usable for SHS classes by next semester.” Engr. Espinedo said on a short interview. The said building was being delayed due to problem encountered by the contractor and this has been solved and soon to be turned over. classrooms has been started with the main foundation and soon to rise for the students of Junior High School. This building also worth more than 17 million. Recently, 12 million budget allocated for three building which are now on going construction taken from the same source of fund. These are computer and science laboratory and workshop building. Engr. Espinedo assured that the said projects will be monitored to avoid the delay and vvwill immediately be used by the students.

SOON TO RISE. This is the area of the new computer and science laboratory for JHS and SHS of Roxas NHS. Photo CdLeopoldo CAMPUS JOURNALISTS of The Green Valley (TGC) and Ang Tanging Hiyas (ATH) school publication of Roxas National High School (RNHS) took home six awards in the First San Isidro District Journalism Training held at Brgy. Roxas, San Isidro, Surigao del Norte August 23-24, 2018.

The students journalists selected having their best articles were the following: Jaylord Escobal and Jaica Cagatin, Editorial Writing; Jose Hermino Dulay and Razel Cariaga, Copy Reading and Headline Writing; Jayvon Rollan and Mickah Bordas, Science Writing. The training aims to train the new students journalists and coaches in journalism; and identify potential writers to represent the schools for the Division Schools Press Conference

(DSPC); The said training was conducted division wide and conducted by district. This was headed by Ms. Elnora Ordedor, Division Journalism Coordinator with the trainers from selected schools namely: Randy Rudila MT-I (Roxas NHS), Sports Writing; Irish E.
