HOW I GOT STARTED I consider myself, a passionate and creative industrial designer deeply committed to the pursuit of beauty in the form and function of objects. My journey in the world of design has been enriched by my background in interior design, a discipline that has instilled in me a profound love for color, aesthetics, materiality, and proportions in the creation of everyday objects.

From the beginning of my career as a designer, I have experienced a strong connection between the design of objects and the enhancement of people's daily experience in their interior environments. I am particularly fascinated by how human beings interact with objects and how these elements become an integral part of our everyday lives. My focus is on designing objects that complement and elevate the daily experience within our interior spaces. To me, these objects are not just functional additions; they become works of art that seamlessly integrate with the essence and purpose of each space.

My creative process is a dance between aesthetics and functionality, where I constantly seek the perfect balance between form and utility. Each project starts with a deep exploration of the needs and desires of those who will interact with the object in its environment. Materiality and proportions are crucial considerations in my work, as I believe they imbue each design with character and uniqueness.

Furthermore, I consider it important that my creations serve as a legacy for people, objects that are not only appreciated in the present but also endure over time, transmitting stories and values to future generations.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of collaborating on a variety of projects, ranging from furniture and lighting to unique decorative elements. I am excited to continue challenging myself and expanding my vision as an industrial designer, always maintaining my commitment to creating objects that enrich the spaces in people's lives.

MEASURING VESSELS PROJECT TYPE Product Design

DATE May 2022

This project aimed to design a set of innovative and aesthetically pleasing measuring cups.

Traditional measuring cups are often considered functional but uninspiring. The goal was to create a measuring cup system that incorporated commonly used measurements while transforming the mundane utensil into a decorative and engaging piece in the kitchen. In order to achieve this the project sought to replicate the ceramic look and feel of pottery through advanced 3D printing technology. Drawing inspiration from cocktail jiggers, the project aimed to combine two measurements in one unit, via reversible hemispheres.

The design process began with extensive user research and identifying pain points in current measuring cup designs. After conducting ideation sessions, prototyping various concepts, and refining the design through user testing and feedback, a design was reached in the form of reversible hemispheres that allowed to combine two measurements in one unit, adding a touch of artistry to the cups while enhancing functionality. This design element was successfully replicated using 3D printing technology.

This project was conceived as a proposal with the aim of capturing the attention of Ikea, presenting them with an innovative and versatile lighting fixture that could potentially become part of their product offerings. Designed to strike a balance between ambient and focused illumination, this wall-mounted fixture was developed with the intention of providing Ikea with a compelling option to consider adding to their catalog, enhancing their range of accessible and stylish lighting solutions.

The project's core objectives encompass a seamless fusion of ambient and focused lighting, ensuring a harmonious balance that optimizes visual comfort and overall user experience. Versatility was a key consideration, targeting spaces like bedside tables and corridors, where practical illumination is needed without the need for precision task lighting. The emphasis on a semi-indirect and diffused light source aims to create a soothing, glare-free atmosphere. The final wall-mounted design maximizes space efficiency and ultimately enhances convenience for users.

SOMNU is an exciting project that aims to transform infant sleep by offering a unique solution that goes beyond traditional sleep aids. With its innovative white noise speaker and user-friendly app, parents can establish sleep routines, set alarms, and manage lighting to ease infants into peaceful slumber. What sets SOMNU apart is its sustainability focus, ensuring the speaker evolves with the child, transitioning from infancy to toddlerhood and beyond.

FORWARD SLANT CHAIR 84 PROJECT TYPE Furniture Design

DATE December 2022

Donald Judd referred to his work not as sculptures but as “specific objects”; a new kind of art that was neither painting nor sculpture. He has emphasized the importance of his work as a whole rather than the compositions of the individual parts. Judd had a keen eye for proportions and considered the space in between the forms part of the final work, where all the negative spaces exactly equaled the positives.

The main objective of this project was the development of new constructive techniques that will allow for continuous growth as a student and designer. A slab of quarter stone sapele wood was selected as the material for this project. The techniques which were explored include bookmatching, dowel joinery, stencil making, routing, planning, biscuit jointing, assembling, among others.

One of the challenges of this piece that yielded the biggest learning advantage was the process of bookmatching. Bookmatching is the practice of matching two or more slabs (in this case wood) in order to have two adjoining surfaces mirror each other. This process allowed for visual interest as it is usually considered a fine craftsmanship technique. It allowed me to understand the simplicity and yet immense attention to detail that comes from Donald Judd's work. Each particular grain and blur on the slab was transferred into a seamless and butterfly-like panel where both sides equaled each other just like most of the proportions of his work.

BANGLE LIGHT PROJECT TYPE Wearable Design

The "Bangle Light" project was conceived with the primary aim of designing a portable flashlight that transcends conventional utility and seamlessly integrates into daily life as a fashionable and functional accessory. This innovative wearable flashlight serves as a safety companion for individuals walking at night, and it was meticulously crafted to cater to both men and women.

Fashion-Forward Design: The project sought to reimagine the concept of portable light by drawing inspiration from contemporary fashion trends, particularly bangle bracelets. The goal was to create a wearable piece that not only delivers functionality but also complements one's style, offering a seamless fusion of fashion and practicality.

Wearable Safety: The core objective was to enhance personal safety, especially during nighttime walks. The "Bangle Light" was designed to provide a reliable and easily accessible source of illumination, aiding users in navigating dark environments while ensuring visibility to others.

The "Bangle Light" project represents a creative convergence of fashion and safety, addressing the practical needs of individuals while elevating their self-expression and personal style. It exemplifies a design philosophy that places equal importance on utility and aesthetics, catering to a broad and diverse user base.
