have seen some major changes There is a new board dent, Mark Colsman He can be seen walking around the er from time to time and I hope you have a chance to meet him and say “Hi”. He is prepared to bring new ideas and reinforce some old ideas and see that our Mission Statement is always in the forefront

I have enjoyed my time as president but am glad to step down and have young people stepping forward It seems like just yesterday that I was planning our 40th anniversary celebration! I will be staying on as a member of the board. I have made some lasting friendships and have so many fond memories of the time I have spent at Cat Care Society From Harlan Street to the beautiful shelter we now call home

I hope all of you will give the new board members and staff a chance to earn your respect and that you will continue to support and love the cats as I do.

KITTEN BRUNCH

The Waldschanke Ciders Kitten Shower & Brunch was a huge success! We had so many people show up in support of CCS and to meet our kittens, Bon and Jovi, that they actually ran out of Brunch to serve!

Truly amazing. Thank you to Waldschanke Ciders for hosting this wonderful event and thank you all who attended and donated, the kittens of CCS are thrilled

It is now just a little more than a month away from our Fifth Paws on the Green golf tournament to benefit the Cat Care Society We will again be going up to Evergreen golf course for a wonderful day on Friday, September 16, 2022 This year, we are hoping to have more golfers participate and more sponsors also helping out

Our focus now is making sure we have enough room for everyone to play. If we have the same number of players as before, we are fine. If we happen to find more players, then we need to notify the golf course at least three weeks prior to the event to reserve more spaces We will also offer a continental breakfast and wonderful buffet luncheon for players and sponsors, so we need to get our number of attendees settled early. Our effective deadline for players is the end of August. We can still accept sponsorships up until about September 9th

Hole Sponsorships are only $300 each, and other sponsorship levels are also available Each sponsor can put a picture of their cat(s) or kitten(s) on their sign, and then take the sign home after the tournament Usually, the players in the tournament will want to look at all the different cats/kittens on the signs as they reach each golf hole, so we want to have all the holes sponsored We still have sponsorship opportunities open

Our goal this year is to reach a total net return to CCS of at least $10 thousand dollars from Paws on the Green This can go a long way towards helping all of our felines at CCS stay healthy and happy while we try to find each one their forever home We continue to specialize in some of the special needs cats and kittens, and we pride ourselves in helping them all get adopted

We also are hoping that the Evergreen herd of Elk come down towards the clubhouse the morning of our tournament again They have greeted us the last two tournaments, and every one of the golfers loves to see them. I heard about the Cat Care Society from a good friend and there's nothing I want to support more than an organization thatcaresformyfavoriteanimals!

Paxton and Tux are two wild boys! We’ve had them since they were kittens and they run our house Nothing happens in our house without them being a part of it. There is a constantgameoftaggoingonuntiloneofthemmakesitto base butlet’sberealtheydon’tplaybytherulesandbase is not a safe spot, so the game continues until the fun tube (“tunnel”) is flattened! Once they are worn out from playing, theyarecompletesnugglebugs Tuxgivesthebesthugs,as heputshispawsaroundyourneckandheadbuttsyou,and Paxton passes out on your lap and has the littlest snore goingon

I decided to donate to the Cat Care Society because I love theorganizationandwhatitdoesforcats.IfIcould,Iwould takeineverycatthatdidnothaveahome,butsincethatis not practical, I’m so thankful for organizations like Cat Care Society that make sure kitties have the care they need and provideasafeplaceforthem

I work for The Gates Foundation and they match employee donations,toqualifiedorganizations,dollarfordollar.Imade adonationtotheCatCareSocietyanditwasapieceofcake togetitmatched Ijusthadtofilloutashortform(provided by my HR department) and less than 5 minutes later my favorite organization received twice the amount of money in donations!

Toanyonethinkingaboutmakingadonationandaskingtheir company to match it, I say "Just Do It!" Generally these programsareinexistenceandarejustwaitingforemployees to put them to use It’s a wonderful, easy way to make an impactonyourfavoriteorganizationevengreater!

SUMMER FESTIVAL

Cat Care Society's Summer Festival went off without a hitch! So many showed up for ice cream, jewelry shopping, and playtime with the cats and kittens.

THE STORY OF PIE

Piewasaspecialguythatoneofourvolunteersmetontheir Meals on Wheels route He was the only pet of a very nice personwhohappenedtobeinhospicecareintheirhome.

Pieonlyknewhisownerandhewasveryprotectiveofthem when anyone would visit Pie’s owner was worried about what would happen to him once they were gone and the volunteer referred them to the Cat Care Society Sadly, his owner passed away shortly after this and Cat Care was contactedandwasabletostepin.

OverthenextfewdaysPiestartedtocomeoutofhisshell. He would come out to greet newcomers, allow pets, and even purred He seemed like a completely different cat, but we knew it was his true sweet and loving personality. Not long after hanging out in one of our cat rooms, Pie finally found his forever home with a wonderful family He remains anexampleofthemanyreasonsCatCareSocietyissucha wonderfulorganizationtobeapartof.
