In Çatalköy-Esentepe region, after individually inspecting streetlight poles in all our villages, they have either been repaired or the missing bulbs replaced. This task, which required extensive effort, has earned great appreciation from our community across the entire region. Although this is not within the municipality's primary responsibilities, this initiative was launched due to numerous complaints from citizens. As a result, this initiative contributes to increased security in the region and a reduction in trafûc accidents.

Establishment of payment points underway
We are taking a step towards the swift implementation of payment points, which is a project that is long overdue after the merger of the municipalities. Payment points where you can pay your municipality bills and top up your credits 24/7 will soon be available. Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality is introducing payment points, especially for Esentepe residents using prepaid
smart meters, to facilitate credit top-ups and payment of water bills and property taxes. Both cash and credit card payments will be accepted at the payment points.

Children are our future
Before taking ofûce, we reiterated the slogan "Children are our future" many times. In line with our promises, we have established a children's park as part of the Hazreti Ömer area renovation and with the contributions of the Cengo Foundation, we have successfully built a modern children's park in the Alagadi region. Furthermore, months ago, we addressed the deûciencies in the Bahçeli village children's park which had been unused and neglected for years. The ground has been covered with grass. Our goal is to create new parks, and for this, we continue to work tirelessly.

The tree branches entangled in electric wires and hindering the Passage of tall vehicles are pruned. Due to the upcoming winter season, trees that could pose a danger and were entangled in electric wires were pruned in cooperation with K1b-Tek.
Efforts for Underground Drainage of Rainwater
We are working to be prepared for sudden heavy rainfall, which may oc-
cur due to global warming. In previous years, in neighborhoods where houses were ûooded with rainwater or faced the risk of ûooding, we accelerated our efforts to prevent such incidents from happening again. Every winter season, we completed our work to ensure that residents of houses located at the intersection of Esentepe De irmen Sokak and Kayseri Sokak can have peace of mind during the winter season. As part of
the most fundamental duty of municipal work, infrastructure work was carried out by cutting the road lengthwise and placing iron grates. Rainwater will ûow underground without reaching the houses, and the work in this area has been completed.
Similarly, in Çatalköy, necessary work has been done in the corners of Dönemeç Sokak where there were hazardous points.

Bölgemizdeki çocuklar1n e_it imkânlarla e itim görece i _artlar1 yaratmak için sosyal belediyecilik anlay1_1 ile e itime deste imiz her zaman büyüyerek devam edecektir.
We gifted school bags to 4-year-olds starting kindergarten, and 1st grade students starting primary schools in our region
For the ûrst time, our municipality initiated a program in which school bags were gifted to all 4-year-old students starting kindergarten and 1st-grade enrolling in local primary schools. In the face of the increasing-
ly challenging living conditions, we encounter each year, our aim is to provide parents with a sigh of relief with this effort, and we plan to continue this initiative in the coming years.
Our commitment to supporting education through a social municipal approach and ensuring that children in our region have equal opportunities for education will always continue and grow.

The teachers of Esentepe Elementary School organized a retirement party for Mr. Tarkan Tonbak, who has served as a teacher at the school for over twenty years with
great dedication and passion for his duty. We wish Mr. Tonbak, who will be remembered with love and respect in every family in Esentepe, a retirement life full of blessings.
Our hıstorıcal works
The Antiphonitis Monastery is 4.5 Km. away from the center of the village,towards the South east side. All three sides of the monastery are covered with high hills and the North side of the monastery looks towards the sea. This monastery was built in the 13 th centurty and it is known as the ûnest buildings of the Christians in the whole of the island.

Perimeter fencing has been completed in Esentepe Atatürk Park for safety purposes. This measure is particularly aimed at preventing our children from venturing onto the road with their bicycles without supervision, and to ensure they do not accidentally enter the main road from the wall located on the passage side of the park.

After years of staying closed and awaiting demolition, the Esentepe Recreation Facilities, which belong to the Civil Defense Organization, have been renewed and are now adding value to the region.
Now a facility that adds value to our region
Previously, a decision had been made to demolish the Esentepe Recreation Facilities, which is under the supervision of the Civil Defense Organization. However, in 2022, this decision was reversed, and renovation works began. With the recent renovations, the facility has been transformed into a modern and excellent es-
tablishment. The opening of the recreation facilities not only provided employment opportunities for the local youth but also brought joy to our entire community, and even our fellow citizens from all around the country, as the establishment is avialble to the public. Particularly this summer, the establishment has become a
favorite destination for many, appreciated by the public for its quality and reliable services. At the Civil Defense Esentepe Social Facility, accommodation, engagement parties, birthday celebrations, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner services are available. Additionally, live music events are now held every Saturday.

Lamia ninemiz kendi ile bar1_1k ve çevresi taraf1ndan sevilen bir de erimizdir. Geçmi_ini bize anlatmas1n1 istedi imiz ninemiz derin bir iç çekerek nerden ba_layay1m diyerek; <1lkokul be_e kadar okula gittim ama okula gitmek bu kadar kolay de ildi, çok yürümemiz gerekirdi. Çok yorulur ve zorlan1rd1m. Be_inci s1n1fta b1rakmak zorunda kald1m, evde kal1p evimizin i_lerine yard1m ederdim. Rahmetli Mecit amcan1z ile kap1 kom_usu idik. Beni be endi ailemden istediler ve evlendik. Evlendik derim ama dü ün yapacak param1z yoktu o zamanlar çok fukaral1k vard1. Dü ün yapamad1k nikah k1yd1k ve sonra yüzük alabildik. Rahmetli e_im her i_i yapard1 hiç i_ten korkmazd1. Odunculuk yapt1, sonra ekip biçerdi çok çal1_1p bizleri muhtaç b1rakmad1. Ve çocuklar1m1z1 okutmay1 ba_ard1k. Our beloved Lamia, who lost her husband Mecit on June 23, 2013, has been living alone in her own home since 2013. She is the mother of three daughters and three sons, and a cherished member of our community. When we asked her to share her story, she took a deep breath and said, 'Where should I begin?'
<I attended school until the ûfth grade, but going to school was not that easy. We had to walk a lot, and it was very tiring and challenging for me. I had to drop out in the ûfth grade, and I would stay at home to help with our household chores. Mecit, who has passed away, was our next-door neighbor. He liked me, and they asked for my hand in marriage from my family, and we got married. I say we got married, but we didn't have money for a wedding; those were tough times. We couldn't afford a wedding, so we just had a civil ceremony, and later, we were able to afford to buy rings.
Mecit could do any job; he was never afraid of work. He worked as a lumberjack and then as a farmer, working hard to provide for us. We managed to educate our children. But then, the war started. I loved my village, Aynikola, very much, and I never wanted to leave, but they forcibly brought us here, and we couldn't even take our bedding with us. We had no problems with the Greeks in our village; we got along very well. But because of the war, we had to comply with the decision to leave our home and property behind. When we arrived here in Esentepe, we faced many difûculties, but my husband never gave up. We ate whatever we could ûnd, and we wore whatever we had, but now, things are different. They always want to dress luxuriously. I miss Aynikola very much; all my memories are there. I used to wait, hoping one day we could go back, but now I know we can't. I pray that God never puts anyone through the horrors of war,' Lamia said. We wish Lamia a healthy and beautiful life.

Our home care service, which aims to make citizens aged 65 and over feel that they are not alone and facilitates a faster communication of their health-related complaints to our municipality, is ongoing with the help of our four nurses. With the foundation of a much-needed health center in the region imminent, even more services will be provided to our residents. The positive feedback from the local community encourages us to strive for even better accomplishments.
