The KOUZINA culinary festival KOUZINA is the premier culinary event of the year in Eastern Halkidiki! In the shadow of the sacred Athos, in the cove of the Athonian Bay, on the sandy Ammouliani Island, at the foot of the Aristotelian Mountain, in the Strymonikos and Akantios Bay, on the verges of Cholomontas Mountain, we invite you to smell and taste our organic products and flavours in a magnificent culinary feast, in which you participate as of this day!

The Fish Restaurant «The Golden Hook» At the sandy beach of Ouranoupolis, where the eye seems to be lost between the harbor, Mount Athos Gulf, Ammouliani island and top of the blessed Athos, Elias leaned passion, experience, love and effort of a lifetime, so that to create a wonderful restaurant. This is «Xriso Akgistri», which «plays» not only with the architecture, style and colors of Mount Athos monasteries but also with the Mediterranean landscape, creating at the same time a special kitchen mosaic: the Mount Athos cuisine, the sea cuisine and the Mediterranean cuisine. The secret of their success is the use of excellent raw material for cooking, exemplary cleanliness, excellent service, unique hospitality, love for good food, the constant updating of the gastronomy, the development of each technique and skill. Today, Elias presents the restaurant’s menu card to the KOUZINA’s visitors. Freshly fished seafood, Aegean-smelling fish, local herbs and vegetables are “met” together in the dishes, offered as a gift of love – from the Athonian Sea to its lovers!

Menu THE FEAST OF THE ATHONIAN SEA Taramosalata Greek traditional salad with herbs Mydopilafo* (*Olympiada is famous for its mussels’ production. The clean water of Strimonikos gulf, the Aristotelian Mountain with the rich vegetation, the virgin environment, the content of the sea water make the Olympiada mussels delicious, big, heavy, strong and healthy)

Pasta with sea food Fish** lemonato, cooked in the athonian way (**The fish and the seafood of Mount Athos are renowned for their exquisite flavor. The reason they are so different from the rest is that the waters of the bay are deep and clean, as the area has many sea currents and there are no organized cultivations to affect it. Thus, our seafood is caught in very deep waters, with the highest salinity in Greece, and rich in plankton and clean food, since no rivers or streams end up in the bay to disturb the balance of the water composition)

Dessert: Traditional Syrupy Sweets Served with a glass of Mountovina*** (***Moudovina is a distillate of honey, produced only in Arnea by local beekeepers)
