The first Ford Capri was released in 1968 and takes its fastback cues from the bigger cousin across the pond. That's because the person involved in the design was also part of the team that worked on the Mustang.

The initial model was manufactured in both the Britain and West Germany. The popularity of the Capri soared and Ford even offered versions to Australian and Japanese markets in the following decades.

The model saw many facelifts and options available throughout its production and achieved something of a cult status in Europe in general and Britain in particular. But that started vaining with the advent of hot hatches in the late 70s. The Capri Mk III arrived in 1978 to reducing interest. So Ford decided to bump up the offerings with range of engines and trim lines. Starting with a 1.3L Crossflow banger all the way to a 3L V6 Essex.

The third gen models also had the distinction of being one of the most stolen vehicles in the 80s and early 90s according to the Home Office.

Bburago offers this distinctive model in the 2.8L Injection version in Crystalline Green Metallic with a black interior. Its dotted rims are wrapped in rubber wheels features the model correct decals. Opening doors complete this model and we find it very interesting and quite detailed for a 1:24 scale model that only costs around $25 on amazon.com and is great for a classic Ford collector or British/European model enthusiast.
