What do you get when you cross the singular lines of a classic, masterfully crafted vintage Porsche with model amenities and driving experience? The result of something beautiful.

Backdating, or restomodding is the art of taking a newish Porsche and converting it to a vintage model that hearkens back to a more lively driving lifestyle.

This particular Porsche started life as a base model 1984 Porsche 911 "Turbo Look" M491. In 2003, the owner decided to give it a full overhaul and restomod to get a more RSR visual feel as technically there were no official RSR street-legal model made.

The project was handed to Rothsport Racing based in Oregon, which took on the project with gusto. The car was stripped down to the bare minimum and built from bottom up. Constructed body panels, lighter hoods and the "duck tail" made by hand and custom FUCHS wheels. The body was painted first in rosso corso and then overpainted with the silver metallic. You can still see the red on the central brand and side stripes. Yellow-tinted vintage feel xenon headlamps completed the outer visual look.

The engine was replaced with 3.8l Flat 6 taken directly from a 993 Cup. The car features completely modified intakes and exhausts. The 5-speed gear box is also remade to allow shorter shifts

Interior was reimagined to almost classic proportions. The seats feature a body matching colour combination, with the same motif along the front dash. All in all, the real model is a real treat for Porsche enthusiasts.

Solido Models released this in 1:18 goodness. Opening doors enable you to take a closer look at the detailed interior. This retails for around €50.00 approximately with retailers. If you hurry, you can grab one before its all taken.
