Late Night Meetings

Last night at about 10, bright lights and noise from movement brought life to the night. About 10 men walked together in a hurry, carrying torches and swords. Who could have been in pursuit at such time, who were they after, and why were they searchingforsomeone?

Hide in the dark and follow where the light led was the way to obtain these answers. The pursuit came to a stop when they encountered General Othello with Iago and Cassio. Othello, a black muslim fighter, survivor of Cyprus and General to Brabantio. Iago is Othello’s ensign, and Michael Cassio is Othello’s lieutenant. However, this encounter wasn’t a friendly one, for what happened next was the clash of metal against metal, pointing their swords at one another as if enemies. General Othello stood firm and calmed everyone. When the threats stopped, the light revealed those who were in pursuit. ThevenetianSenatorBrabantio,Roderigo, and officers. They start arguing, for which unfortunately few things could have been heard from the distance of our hiding. “Down with him, thief!” yelled Signior Brabantio to Othello. Soon after they started moving together. They all went to the Doge for what seemed like a senate meeting.Bywatchingthroughawindowit was revealed that signor Brabantio was actually upset with General Othello. Signor Brabantio complained to the Doge, “My daughter! O, my daughter! She is abused, stol’n from me, and corrupted by spells and medicines”. To this, the duke asks who has done this to his daughter Desdemona. Brabantio points at Othello. Othello responded to this saying, “That I haveta’enawaythisoldman’sdaughter,It

is most true; true I have married her” and he ends this claim saying, ”Of my whole course of love; what drugs, what charms, what conjuration and what mighty magic, for such proceeding I am charged withal, I won his daughter.”. (General Othello’s truthtoSigniorBrabantio)

Signor Brabantio refused to believe this saying, “Of spirit so still and quiet, that her motion blush’d at herself; and she, in spiteofnature, ofyears, ofcountry, credit, every thing, to fall in love with what she fear’dtolookon!”.Othellorespondstothis by saying they could ask Desdemona herself.

“My noble father, I do perceive here a divided duty: To you I am bound for life and education; My life and education both do learn me how to respect you; you are the lord of duty; I am hitherto your daughter; but here’s my husband.”(She revealstoherfatherwiththesewords)

Signor Brabantio then had no more reason to continue the argument. The topic is then switched to the main reason they were called to the senate meeting. The Doge tells Othello that he must go to Cyprus due to a threat by the Turks. General Othello then prepares to leave andtheroomstartstoemptyout.

Cassio Promoted to Lieutenant Drama spills as one headline beats all “Cassio Promoted to Lieutenant.”

It has been reported that Michael Cassio has been promoted from a great arithmetician to Lieutenant of the Cyprus army by General Othello.

OthersaresayingthatIagoismore deservingofthepromotionbecauseofhis extensivebattleshehashad,whileCassio hasn’tsteppedfootinthefield.

However, General Othello has reportedly said that he chose Cassio for his trustworthiness and his loyal attitude. To get more insight on this complication, we decided to ask Iago himself and his opinion on the decision made by Othello.

Q: What do you think of Michael Cassio?

A: I think that he is a great arithmetician but a Florentine.

Q: Do you think he is deserving of the role and why?

A: No he isn’t, he has never set a squadron in the field, and knows much as a spinster of battles.

Q: How do you think your and Cassios experience match up?

A: He is nothing but a smart fool, while I have seen proof of battle and was there at Rhodes, at Cyprus and on other grounds as well.

Cassio Promoted!

The Dukes meet with the senators about the possibility of Turkish invasion of Cyprus, take a turn when a sailor arrives and say that the Turks seem too tired to Rhodes which is the island that is controlled by Venice. One of the senators guessed that the Turks changed their course to fool the venetians. The arrival of othello

In the cyprus near the shore montano watches a storm with two people rigth when he says that the turkish ships could not have survived the storm but a third man comes and he confirms his prodiction as the ship he was on traveled from venice. Cassio witnessed that the turks have lost most of their ships in the tempest. There still unsure if othellos ship survived the storm then a new ship arrives carrying iago, emilia, desdemona, and roderigo when desdemona gets off the ship and cassio tells her that othello still has not arrived the there's a third ship that has arrived.

The ship is carrying othello and when he gets off the ship he greets desdemona and he expresses his devotion to him by giving her a kiss. He thanks the people of cyprus for there welcome and hospitality and he tells iago to unload the ship everyone but roderigo and iago go to the castle so they can celebrate the drowning of the turks. While iago and roderigo are alone iago tells roderigo that desdemona will soon be tired of othello and she will want a more handsome and well mannered man then iago continues and says that the first choice will be cassio but roderigo tries to argue that cassio was just being polite by talking desdemona's hand but iago convinces him that cassio has ill intentions and convinces him to start a quarrel so that it'll cause an uproar and will cause the tense city make cassio fall out of favor with othello

What seemed like a night filled with joy from victory against the Turks, later became an uncomfortable night out. Chaos struck the hearts of those who ached violence. Here to tell us about the sour end of the feast is Iago. We started off the interview by asking where he was whenthisallhappened?

“I was enjoying a nice peaceful talk with our friend Montano. Montano is governor ofCyprus.Wewereallbroughttogetherto prepare to fight against the Turks, but the storm ended that job, so we were all enjoying a peaceful time. Suddenly in comes a man losing a fight against our lieutenantMichaelCassio.”

We then asked him how it was that Montanoendedupwounded?

“Montano stops the fight by holding Cassio. They have a little talk. Then next thing I know Cassio pulls his sword out and points it at Montano. I started to yell at him to hold but he was too enraged to listentoanyofmypleas.Theyfought, and Cassio ended up hurting Montano. If I’m being honest, if it weren’t for General Othello, I don’t know how far Cassio would’vegone.”

Wethenasked,whathappenedafter?

Q and A Evening Fight

“Well everyone went on, I went to my job, others left to go to sleep instead. Montano was sent to be taken care of. General Othello went back to his room. When I looked back at Cassio, he was just standing there looking at nothing. Probably in disbelief from losing his place as Lieutenant. I went to him trying to comfort him a bit, and I think I succeeded.”

Interviewer, “What do you believe started this rampage by Michael Cassio, someone who was very well known for his noble character and to then become this unrecognizable person we all saw yesterday?”

“I too am in disbelief, to see my dear friend act so crazy. However, the last time I saw Cassio well was during the celebration in which we were all drinking. I was drinking, and so was Cassio. And then Montano comes to join us in the drinking celebration. Montano then challengesCassiotodrinkingsaying‘Iam for it, lieutenant; and I’ll do you justice.’ and so they drank. Afterwards Cassio looks sick, but he confirms to us saying, ‘Do not think, gentleman. I am drunk: this is my ancient; this is my right hand, and this is my left: I am not drunk now; I can stand well enough, and speak well enough.’ he then leaves to his post and that’s when I last saw the Cassio I know. And as I said before, he then returns fightingwithsomeman.”

We wanted to interview Michael Cassio, but he declined every offer. What’s to happento

Michael Cassio after the dismissal of his position?

Turks Drowned

Political Update- The ongoing war between the Cyprus Military and the Turkish Military had caused death together with fear from citizens for years. Though, weather has struck and caused the war between Cyprus and Turkey to end.

Yesterday afternoon was met with surprise as we learned that the Turk’s ships reportedly sank during the night after a surge of heavy storms over the sea. Although, this wasn’t all of the Turkish fleet as a small part of the Turkish army remains.

The news broke out in an open seaport in Cyprus. The Cyprus Military was also lucky enough to get out alive as reports of the Turks drowning were later confirmed by Lieutenant Cassio as he arrived in Cyprus and yelled “News, lads! Our wars are done!”. This was also confirmed by Governor Montano as he was with Cassio as well.

We have speculated that the Turkish will surrender as the likelihood is very high now that the fleet of 140 ships has reduced in size. Negotiations between the Turks and Cyprus have been brought up, but are not yet confirmed. As for the Venetians, Cyprus has thanked them for sending the legendary General Othello.

Tragic Night

The world is saddened with the unexpected death of Desdemona, daughter of Signior Brabantio, and wife to general Othello. Not much is told of this except for little details. Some information we were able to get was that she was foundlayingonherbedinherroominher white sheets and white sleeping gown. She is lying without any blood or any bruisesonher.

This happens at night when all are sleeping in their rooms. We got the opportunity to ask a guard about the actions that took place following the death. The guard told us that screams were heard, “ Help! Help, ho! Help! The Moor hath kill’d my mistress! Murder! Murder!”. At those screams, many men ran to Desdemona’s room to find her laying on her bed and seeing General Othello crying beside her and Emilia standing. Of those who ran to see what those screams were about, those more knownwereMontano,Gratiano, andIago.

The guard tells us, “We learned that Othello killed his wife Desdemona. Emilia stated that Othello was getting help from Iago, for which Iago himself confirms that he believed Desdemona was cheating on Othello with Cassio. Iago and Othello say they were certain of the betrayal because of a certain handkerchief they saw in Cassio’s hands. Emilia, frustrated with thisbelief, confirmstousthatDesdemona was capable of no such thing, and that Iago has fooled Othello into killing the, ‘sweetest innocent’. She tells Othello that she was the one to find that handkerchief andshegaveittoIago.”

The guard told us that Othello was in pain with Desdemona’s death but as soon as he wastoldthetruth, therealizationofIago’s actions was just what brought him to be his brave strong self again. The guard lastly tells us that Iago kills Emilia and runsawayonlytobechasedbytheguards andtobecaught.

In the end of the revelations, the crimes, and running, the nightmare ended with three dead bodies in one bed. Desdemona, Emilia, andOthello.

“Be thus when thou art dead, and I will kill thee, And love thee after. One more, and this the last: So sweet was ne’er so fatal”

Dating Profiles for Cassio and Bianca

The promotion of a new governor has arised in the city of Cyprus after reports of Othello's suicide death have taken place along with the murder of his wife Desdemona. The man who will take the position of Governor will be no other than Michael Cassio, an old friend and militant partner of Othello.

This will be the second time Cassio has had a promotion since he was promoted to lieutenant and later lost the position for fighting and hurting Sir Montano at the castle while appearing to be drunk under the night sky. Governor Cassio won’t be the only person to inherit a possession of Othello, for Gratiano will also inherit the materialistic possessions of Othello.

Now that Cassio is in charge of Cyprus, the question is asked how he will handle new situations to come. His first situation being how he will punish the sly wolf Iago. Governor Cassio will decide how he will induce tortious acts on Iago if any. He will also pick the time of day and place, whether it be in the public or not.

The Venetian government has also reportedly been informed by boat from Lodovico about the wrongdoings of Iago and the death of Othello and Desdemona.
