Stories.
We tell them in the oral tradition, in writing, in paint, sculpture, canvas. Our fashion tells the story of where we are going. Our homes tell the story of where we cam from, and where we want to be. In some way or another, we all tell stories. Cassie tells her stories through her design. Whether it’s a bright magenta Dahlia on a kitchen wall, bringing to mind the surprise and joy of a field of uplifting flowers, or a wall of reclaimed wood paneling taking you on a walk through a tranquil old growth forest, Cassie’s bold patterns and bright pops of color draw from the colors and textures of nature to elevate a space to something more.
Cassie draws on her lifelong love and involvement in arts and travel, having returned to the US from life as an expatriate in Hong Kong, where she taught art classes, co-created an island’s community arts center and co-managed a record label. Fitzgerald famously said, ‘There are no second acts in American lives.” Perhaps he was wrong. Leaving behind her closest friends whom became her family, Cassie returned to the States determined to focus on the arts full time and return to school.
Her decision to pursue a career in Interior and Architectural Design came after much searching, but was an easy one to sand with. In her spare time, Cassie enjoys creating art, yoga and tap dance. She continues to work on her passion project of creating free form mandalas (before you could buy a coloring book!) using various genres of music to explore the influence of song on the studio arts.
