În consecinţă, câștigul casei vai fi mai mic! Să presupunem că aparatul este conectat la un premiu mystery cu o contribuţie de 1%. Câștigul va fi de 4%->100% - 95% (procentul jocului) – 1% (contrubuţie de tip mystery). În mod evident, operatorul de cazinou se asteaptă la cel puţin același câștig teoretic pe zi (preferabil mai mult de atât) după conectarea la premiile progressive/mystery. Odată ce aparatul este conectat la un premiu mystery cu o contribuţie de 1%, pentru a se asigura un câștig teoretic de 75 euro pe zi, acesta este nevoit să producă 1.875 euro pe zi în pariul total. Progressive Prizes and Mystery prizes are tools to increase the amount of play on slot machines; progressive prizes aim to increase the average bet (and as a result the amount of play increases), mystery prizes aim to increase the number of games played (and as a result the total amount of play increases). To increase the volume of play, the casino operator sacrifices part of his theoretical result. Let there be no mistake, the amount of play on machines connected to a progressive or mystery prize MUST increase to guarantee the casino operator the same (or higher) net result, compared to the same machine not connected to a progressive or mystery prize. An example will clarify this fact. Let’s take a game with a Theoretical Player Return Percentage of 95%. If this machine is now connected to a Progressive or Mystery prize, the game return percentage will remain at 95% and in addition a progressive or mystery contribution percentage is added. As a result the house hold percentage will be less! Let’s say we connect the machine to a mystery price with a contribution percentage of 1%. The house hold percentage will now be 4%-> 100% - 95% (game percentage) - 1% (mystery contribution). Obviously the casino operator wants at least the same theoretical win per day (preferably more than that) after the machine is connected to the progressive or mystery prize. Once we have connected the machine in question to a mystery prize with a contribution percentage of 1%, to ensure 75 euro theoretical win per day, the machine needs to produce 1.875 euro per day in total bet. That is 25% more than when the machine was not connected to the mystery prize. If the machine does not produce more than 25% extra total bet per day after it has been connected to the mystery prize, the casino is better of switching off the mystery jackpot, because it is costing the casino money. For the sake of clarity, when I refer to progressive prizes in this article, I mean ´symbol driven prizes, which typically can be won if the player has a certain winning combination and his is playing the maximum bet on the specific game´. Mystery prizes in this article are ´external bonus wins, for which the player does not need a winning combination and any bet qualifies for the prize´. Mystery prizes can have conditions associated with them (bet conditions, time conditions and many other), but typically they are not limited to a certain game, bet level or winning combination.
