DEAR FRIENDS, At My Possibilities we work tirelessly to courageously and relentlessly pursue the full, untapped possibilities of our Hugely Important People. I want to thank each of you for your time, dedication and passion to My Possibilities. We cannot achieve our goals without your steadfast support. 2018 was a monumental year in My Possibilities’ history. We began the year with an incredibly successful merger with LaunchAbility, creating the LaunchAbility Career Services program at My Possibilities. Through this merger, MP now offers a continuum of services—continuing education to job development and job coaching. In our first year, we doubled the number of job placements for our HIPsters in North Texas. In May, we moved into the Fischer Family School of Life Skills on the Campus of Higher Learning, our forever home, the first of seven buildings planned for construction on our campus. We hope to break ground on building two, the LaunchAbility Career Services Center, in 2019. Our capital campaign continues to move forward, I’m pleased to report we’ve raised $19 million of our $25 million capital campaign goal. We had a breakthrough year, receiving support from numerous Dallas foundations, including our first $1 million grant. 2018 was a year of celebrations and successful fundraising events. In June, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary, complete with a birthday week of activities culminating in our annual Community Ball, where we raised $500,000. Alliance Data announced a $1 million matching gift benefiting the capital campaign. In the fall, we held the largest HIPster Golf Classic in MP history and raised more than $160,000 on North Texas Giving Day. Finally, we closed the year with our first-ever HIPster Relay. This event meant a lot to us—we were able to bring the community to our campus and invite all to walk for inclusion. It was a spectacular day, and we look forward to next year. Thank you all for making our 2018 events so meaningful and impactful.

When the idea of My Possibilities was born in 2007, three crucial areas of focus were identified: education, employment and residential support. Over the past decade, we have crafted an outstanding continuing education program. Coupled with vocational training and job placement support, our program provides a path to independent living for our HIPsters. In September, with great pride, we announced the purchase and rezoning of our residential community, we hope to break ground in 2020. We are ecstatic to take on this next venture to provide the first universally designed, inclusive residential community. We truly are an organization on a mission. We are grateful to everyone who believes in the work we do and works alongside us to tap into so many possibilities. We are ready for 2019! We thank you in advance for your continued support throughout the next 10 years.

ABOUT MY POSSIBILITIES What began as the vision of three mothers looking for a better future for their children has developed into the first-of-its-kind continuing education and job development program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. My Possibilities, MP, serves adults (18 years old and above) with disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Autism, Prader-Willi, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injuries, and more. MP provides adults with IDD the opportunity to continue their education. Our programs focus on socialization, vocational training and independent living skills. These skills equip our Hugely Important People, HIPsters, with the knowledge and confidence they need to achieve the life they deserve. In 2017, MP broke ground on 22 acres of land in Plano, to construct the MP Campus for Higher Learning. On May 7, 2018 MP opened the doors to the Fischer Family School of Life Skills, the first of seven buildings on the campus grounds. Staff and HIPsters alike were thrilled to start this new chapter of possibilities. Today, MP is the largest provider of services for adults with IDD in North Texas. As the need continues to grow in our community, we continuously seek new ways to expand our facilities and outreach in the North Texas area.

EDUCATION AND VOCATION Educational Programming My Possibilities, along with talented educators and committee members, crafted and trademarked an educational curriculum, The Pillars of EducationTM, for instructors’ daily use. These pillars provide the foundation of learning for any adult with a disability, regardless of diagnosis or ability level. All courses offered at My Possibilities fit within The Pillars, with Directing my Future as the foundation; Aspiring Interdependence, Inspire Something to Be, My Place in the World, Sound Mind Sound Body, and Vocabilities. Within The Pillars, classes are categorized as Functional Academics, Electives and Vocational, with core classes listed as independent living basics, community independence, and leadership and self-advocacy. In 2018, the program staff launched a new class selection process for HIPsters. The course catalog, detailing more than 75 class options, is sent home for review with HIPsters and their families/guardians. Class suggestions are made by parents/guardians and HIPsters. Those suggestions are then reviewed one-on-one between HIPsters and MP Advisors. Ultimately, HIPster choice drives this process to produce each class schedule. We have seen tremendous growth in HIPsters since we adopted this method. Functional academic classes aim to provide the highest quality of education to our HIPsters by equipping them with the knowledge, behaviors and skills necessary to lead fulfilling lives. Elective classes offer HIPsters the opportunity to explore new interests, develop a hobby or craft, or continue developing personal goals. Upon admission, each Hugely Important Person, with assistance from caregivers and advisors, creates individualized goals within the program. Goals vary by individual; some may set goals that include vocational classes and obtaining a job, while others focus on class participation and discovering a hobby. Establishing goals creates accountability, builds confidence and provides a path within the program.

LAUNCHABILITY CAREER SERVICES Vocational Programming In January of 2018, My Possibilities merged with LaunchAbility, the leading disability employment organization in North Texas. Through this merger, MP now offers a continuum of services—continuing education to job development and job coaching. LaunchAbility Career Services is organized in two departments: E Vocational Education, or VocEd, serves as an introduction to vocational training E The Vocational Program involves Texas Workforce Commission, Assessments, Placements, Retention, Continued Support contracts and the “Academy” internship program. Maintaining focus on increasing our candidacy pool to optimize potential job matches has led to a decrease in our job placement waitlist. The job development team meets weekly to review business leads

and strategize community outreach. In 2018, we saw a 50 percent reduction in our client waitlist and celebrated 36 competitive employment placements.

In October, we were invited to participate in numerous Disability Employment Awareness Month events. Special thanks to the many host organizations:

Additionally, in partnership with The Infinite Agency, LaunchAbility Career Services launched an awareness campaign, “Not Out of Office,” to shed light on the abysmal 9 percent employment rate in Texas for individuals with IDD.

E Accenture E Capital One

Department Achievements My Possibilities was selected for The Big Give Dallas, an annual one-day hackathon, where digital professionals volunteer their time and skills to transform nonprofit web presence. My Possibilities and Projekt202 were paired together to build an online learning platform using MP’s Diversity and Inclusion curriculum. This platform educates employers on best practices to equip their organizations to employ and support employees with disabilities.

E Lex Friedman Statewide Employment Awards E Southwest Airlines

E Department of Labor E Human Resources Southwest Regional Conference E JPMorgan

E The Big Bang In 2018, we were awarded a grant for nearly $300,000 from the Better Together Fund. These funds provided the support needed to train staff and build capacity towards becoming the largest job placement agency for people with disabilities in Texas.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) is more than just a buzz phrase. Businesses all around North Texas are aware that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are a viable workforce. However, training is a critical need for managers, supervisors and peers for businesses that hire individuals with disabilities. Through seed funds from Capital One and technology support from Projekt202, My Possibilities has created a D&I curriculum designed to provide much-needed training via face-to-face instruction or online learning. Currently, the curriculum and training are being vetted, thanks to a collaboration of corporate partners. The D&I team at MP continually creates awareness and educates the surrounding communities on hiring, retaining and supporting adults with IDD in the workplace.

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM MY POSSIBILITIES PLANS FIRST-EVER INCLUSIVE, UNIVERSALLY-DESIGNED RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY In September, My Possibilities received approval from Garland City Council for a unique residential concept for the former Eastern Hills Country Club. MP plans to convert the defunct site into a 300-home residential community— 100 of which will be available to our HIPsters and their family members. The remaining 200 homes will sell between $300,000 - $400,000. The community will operate with a homeowner’s association and will provide needed features such as on-call care, security and landscaping. The property will have trails, swimming pools, an amphitheater, and so much more. Currently, there are various residential models throughout the IDD community; however, there is not a model that accepts both private and public pay options. This component sets this community apart, making it more accessible to those seeking more independence. Property inside the community is not currently for sale; however, we hope to break ground in spring of 2020. Additional information can be found at mypossibilities.org/residential.

33

FAQ Q: How does this model allow for both public and private pay options? A: The homes within the community that are open to the public for sale/rent allows the usage of Home and Community Based Services (HCS) funds. My Possibilities will offer a private pay residential model, operated within the homes the organization owns. Q: What is the square-footage of each home? A: There are three different lot sizes which allows for a variety of home designs. Floorplans will range from 1,700 square feet to 3,200 square feet or more. Q: If construction begins in 2020, how soon can homeowners move in? A: It is our hope to begin development in 2019 and home building in 2020. This means that homes will be ready for move-in sometime in early to mid-2021. Q: What is the projected timeline of completion? A: Homes will be built, gradually, over a four – five-year period. This sets community completion on target for 2025 – 2026. Q: Will there be green space? A: We are fortunate to have a beautiful piece of property on the water. We will maximize green space within the community. Of the 178 acres, 45 percent will remain green, or open space. 45 percent translates to roughly 80 acres for parks, trails, Texas wildlife and a community center. Q: We are interested, do you have a list? A: You can join our interest list by emailing residential@mptx.org. We will send you new information when available and inform you when homes and lots can be purchased.
