Changing the Trajectory of Children’s Lives for 42 years

OUR MISSION

CASA of Tarrant County and its court-appointed volunteers advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children

OUR VISION

A clear voice, a safe home and a bright future for every abused and neglected child living in foster care in Tarrant County

OUR PROMISE

Raising a voice against the unspeakable

OUR PROGRAM

CASA of Tarrant County is a volunteer-powered organization that works solely for the benefit of children caught in the foster care system through no fault of their own. CASA volunteers are individuals from our community who believe that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves to be in a safe and loving home. Volunteer advocates serve as the judge’s eyes and ears, speak up for the child in court, and recommend whether the child should stay with his or her parents, be placed with relatives, or be freed for permanent adoption. They are regular people making a remarkable impact.

A Rock in the Storm: How CASA Changed Theo’s Life

For six years, Theo endured the instability of foster care—frequent moves, shifting caregivers, and the uncertainty of what came next. Like many foster youth, he faced immense challenges with little consistency in his life. But amid the chaos, there was one person he could always count on: his CASA volunteer, Laura.

From the start, Laura was a steady presence, building trust and advocating for Theo’s needs. She not only supported him in court and school but also nurtured his confidence. “For me, you’ve been a rock,” Theo shared. “You go out of your way to make everyone feel loved and cared for.” Through her unwavering commitment, Laura provided Theo with the stability he had never known.

With Laura’s encouragement, Theo achieved what many foster youth struggle to reach—high school graduation. The impact of a consistent, supportive adult is life-changing, and Theo’s success is proof of that. As he steps into adulthood, he carries with him the confidence that someone believes in him. “You’re the type of person who makes you feel like you can take on anything,” he told Laura. Thanks to CASA volunteers like her, children like Theo don’t just survive the foster system—they thrive beyond it.
