Do you have high nutritional demands for your dog? Of course only the best food is good enough for your companion. Which food is most suitable depends on several factors, such as the size, age, activity and health of your happy four-footed friend.

Just Right CaroCroc is synonymous with Utterly Dutch, without fuss or Just Right. This is translated into a complete and compact range of merely 14 different types of food.

The fractions; insight into protein/fat ratio at a glance.

The fraction system You’ve seen them, the two numbers with a stroke in between on the CaroCroc packaging. But what do they actually mean? These numbers reflect the CaroCroc fraction system, with the protein percentage before the stroke and the fat percentage in the product after it. On the packaging of CaroCroc Original, for example, you will see 23/12 printed. This means that CaroCroc Original contains 23% protein and 12% fat.

Why proteins and fats Proteins and fats. Your dog cannot do without them. Proteins are essential building blocks. Your dog needs them for the formation of all tissues and organs, such as cartilage, muscles, skin, hair, but also antibodies. The protein requirement differs amongst animals. Young, pregnant and lactating animals need more protein for growth. This also applies to dogs suffering trauma, burns or cancer.

Fats do not only supply energy. They also ensure that fat-soluble vitamins can do their work. In addition, fat is important for supplying the essential omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. Dogs with a high exertion level or that have certain diseases have a higher energy requirement and therefore require a higher fat content. For overweight dogs, choose a food type with a lower fat content.

1. Life stage Growth phase Puppies grow incredibly quick. During the growth phase, new tissue is built. The largest part of this development is one-time; the nervous system, teeth and skeletal development. If, during this growth phase, your puppy gets too many or too few nutritional substances, this can manifest itself immediately or later in life. Good nutrition with the appropriate quantities of nutrients is essential during the growth phase for a long and healthy life.

Adult Your dog is adult when it has reached its final weight and no new cells are being formed in the body for growth. During this phase, your dog needs nutrition tailored to the replacement of old body cells. What’s more, it is important that your dog maintains a healthy weight.

Older dogs As dogs grow older, their nutritional needs change. They move less and their organs no longer function optimally. Their protein and mineral requirement decreases. It is important for you dog’s well-being to adjust its diet for this.

Apart from age and health, your dog’s nutrition also depends on size. For example, small breeds mature earlier than large ones and live longer on average. Because they get older, they tend to experience aging phenomena more. Large breeds, unlike small breeds, are sensitive to gastric torsion. In short, the nutritional needs of a small breed, from puppy stage onwards, are different from those of a large breed. For your dog’s well-being, it is therefore important to adjust its diet for this.

The physical condition depends on several factors; nutrition, physical exertion and genetic predisposition.

Your dog’s physical condition affects its life expectancy. An overly large physique increases the risk of cancer, joint disorders, diabetes, kidney and liver failure and cardiac disorders. For these reasons, prevent obesity in your dog and give it sufficient movement. Adjust the amount of food to the physical condition.

Some dogs react in a hypersensitive way to standard dog food. Does your dog have gastro-intestinal problems, skin and coat problems, diarrhoea caused by hypersensitivity or is your dog convalescing?

Adjust its diet accordingly.

5. Feeding schedules The feeding schedules at every productpage show an indication of the daily amount of food. Follow the feeding schedule and adapt the feeding schedule if necessary to maintain the body weight of your dog.

The daily amount of food should be divided over two or more meals per day. Evaluate your dog’s condition on a regular basis and make sure your dog has easy access to fresh and clean drinking water. Clean food and water bowl regularly.

Puppy 28/18 Your puppy undergoes immense development from birth to 10 months for small breeds and 15 months for large breeds. In this period, the skeleton, teeth, muscles and digestive system are formed.

Good nutrition is therefore crucial at this stage of its life.

CaroCroc Puppy is a complete food for puppies and young growing dogs of small breeds. The optimal ratio of omega 3 to 6 fatty acids promotes a healthy skin and coat condition. In addition, CaroCroc Puppy contains yeast (0.5%). In combination with vitamin E, yeast supports your puppy’s resistance.

CaroCroc Puppy is easily digestible. Because of its balanced composition, your puppy develops optimally and in so doing, lays a solid basis for a healthy and vigorous dog’s life.

Nutritional advice: supplement your puppy for the fourth week of its life with CaroCroc Puppy.

Moistening the kibble initially with lukewarm water promotes take-up. If your puppy is eating well, you can give it dry kibble.

Feed your puppy at least 3x per day. The following feeding schedule is the guideline for the daily administration of food. If your puppy hasn’t finished the food after about 15 minutes, remove whatever is left. Give CaroCroc Puppy to young dogs of small breeds up to approximately 10 months of age.

Puppy Large 25/17 A balanced diet, especially in medium to large breeds, constitutes an important basis for young growing dogs. CaroCroc Puppy Large assures you of a good growth and development for your dog. It contains all the nutrients, in the correct proportions, that your puppy or young growing dog needs. Puppies of large breeds must not grow too fast. This increases the risk of joint disorders. CaroCroc Puppy Large contains an optimal energy, protein and calcium content for steady growth.

Puppies of large breeds continue growing up to 15 months. After 15 months, gradually switch over to CaroCroc Large Breed.
