Pay to Play Bingo

Join us on select Fridays the month for Pay to Play Bingo at the Community Center. Cards are sold starting at 9:45 am on the Fridays listed below. Please bring your own dobber and single dollar bills as no change will be given. Cards are $2.00 per card packet (3 cards/game, 8 games/packet) 3 packet max.

Book Club

Book club meets on the second Thursday of the month from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Please see the Senior Newsletter for the current book that will be discussed.

Cary Canaries Glee Club

The Cary Canaries Glee Club share the love of music and performing. The Glee Club performs at several Cary Park District senior parties throughout the year plus monthly performances for various groups throughout the community. The Glee Club meets Tuesdays from 10:00 - 11:15 am. All are welcome to join.

Chair Yoga

This low impact yoga helps with pain relief, relaxation, and flexibility. Instruction is done by video. Chair Yoga meets Tuesdays from 9:00 - 10:00 am.

Craft Club

Join others by working on individual or group projects. All are welcome, no crafting or artistic experience necessary. Craft Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 10:30 - 12:30 pm.

Dominoes Club

Meet others and enjoy playing Dominoes. No experience necessary as this friendly group will help you learn. Dominoes Club often hosts a Dominoes Tournament for prizes. Dominoes Club meets on the first and third Thursday of the month from 10:00 - 12:30 pm.

Canasta Club

Join this friendly group to play Hand & Foot Rummy. No experience necessary, beginners are welcome to join. Canasta Club meets on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm.

Mah Jongg Club

Use your skill and wit and maybe some luck thrown in while playing Mah Jongg. Mah Jongg Club meets every Tuesday from 12:30 - 4:00 pm.

Join us for good food and great socialization at area restaurants. Participants will order off the menu and self-pay. Reservations are for 11:45 am. Transportation by Park District bus is available for $5 (n/r $6), and leaves the Community Center at 11:15 am. Return time is approximate. Advanced registration is required for all participants whether riding the bus or driving yourself. The registration deadline is

Full Monty at Cutting Hall

Join the fun in lunch and theater as we head to Palatine Inn for lunch and then Cutting Hall for a production of “The Full Monty”. In this Americanized musical stage version adapted from the 1997 British film of the same name, six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers, low on both cash and prospects, decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales. As they prepare for the show, working through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie. Holiday Party in a Bag!

Over the past two years the Holiday Party in a Bag has been a huge success in providing a way for area seniors to celebrate the holidays. Seniors in the community will have the opportunity to register to receive a Holiday Party Bag!

l Please complete a registration form and return it to the Community Center with your payment (cash or check). Or you may register online at carypark.com. Please use registration code 13853 when registering. l Fee is $5 per bag (registration is required). l Registration deadline is 12:00 pm, Friday, December 9. l Your Holiday Party in a Bag will be ready for pickup at the drive-up station in front of the Community Center, 255 Briargate Road, Cary on Thursday, December 22 between 11:30 am - 12:30 pm. All bags will be placed in your vehicle.

Holiday Party in a Bag will Include:

l A complete individually packaged catered holiday meal consisting of an entree, spring mix salad with dressing, roll with butter, dessert, milk, and a mini can of root beer or ginger ale. l Small gifts, puzzles, and treats to open.

Sponsorship Opportunities

As in previous years we would like to offer our community, both individuals and businesses the opportunity to sponsor this event. The sponsorship fee is $20. You may register as a sponsor by registering online at carypark.com, using registration code 13856 or by contacting the Community Center at 847-639-6100. Deadline for sponsorship is Monday, December 19.
