Our Teachers

The Cary Park District Preschool teachers shape the minds and emotions of young children and are passionate about what they do. They are patient, energetic, and engaging. Our teachers provide a nurturing, safe, caring, and structured curriculum for young children to feel loved, safe, and free to learn. Our teachers have obtained college degrees and keep current with issues in early childhood, health, and safety through conferences, seminars, and trainings.

Our Program Goals

l Provide opportunities to explore, play, experiment, and problem solve through teacher directed and student initiated activities based on curriculum aligned with

Illinois Early Learning Standards.

l Promote a child’s sense of individual worth and belonging as part of a group and community.

l Create a language, math, and science rich environment that understands and meets the developmental needs of each child socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually through literature, cooperative learning, and dramatic play.

l Establish constant parent communication through daily conversations, conferences, and progress reports encouraging a home to school connection through nurturing positive relationships

l Promote awareness of the larger community with visitors and field trips.

Field trips and guest visitors are planned to extend your child’s learning experiences, enhancing their understanding of their environment, their community, themselves, and the world around them through hands on discovery and exploration.

l Follow the guidelines for kindergarten readiness skills.

Registration for 2022/2023 School Year

If you are interested in registering your child for the remainder of this school year, please contact the Cary Park District Preschool at 847-636-7448. Spaces are available in some classes.

Registration for the 2023/2024 School Year

Current Students: Registration for students currently enrolled in our preschool will begin Monday, February 13.

Students Not Currently Enrolled in Our Preschool: Resident registration begins Wednesday, February 22. Non-resident registration begins Wednesday, March 1. Registration is held at the Cary Park District Community Center, 255 Briargate Road.

2023/2024 School Year Schedule of Classes

3-year old Program (Must be 3 by 9/1/23)

TWTH 9:00 - 11:30 am

3-year old Program (Must be 3 by 12/31/23)

TTH 9:00 - 11:30 am MWF 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

4-year old Program (Must be 4 by 9/1/23)

TWTH 9:30 am - 12:00 pm M-TH 9:15 - 11:45 am M-F 8:45 - 11:15 am

Registration must include a copy of your child’s birth certificate and a $60 non-refundable yearly registration fee for each child. Multiple child discounts are available. All children must be completely toilet trained - NO PULL UPS.

The Cary Park District Preschool offers a solid foundation for your child’s future learning. If you have a child who is ready for Preschool next year and are interested in learning more about the Cary Park District Preschool, we would like to invite you to register for our Preschool Preview. You and your child will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with one of our nurturing teachers about our quality curriculum, and explore our fun, engaging classrooms.
