Bodywork Relax N’ Stretch

Adults KT

This is a one-on-one session that incorporates Thai Yoga Bodywork. Thai Yoga Bodywork is a therapeutic practice that combines elements of yoga, acupressure, and traditional Thai massage. It is a holistic healing system where the practitioner uses their hands, feet, knees, and elbows to apply pressure along the body’s energy lines (called “sen” in Thai tradition) while also guiding the recipient through a series of yoga-like stretches. This combination aims to relieve tension, improve flexibility, promote energy flow, and has been know to aid in anxiety and depression. This practice is great for restoring balance in the body and mind.

Sessions often take place on a cushioned mat with the recipient fully clothed, and can vary in intensity depending on individual needs.

Yin Yoga

Adults CF

Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga that involves holding grounded, passive poses to increase mobility and reduce stress. In this class participants will focus on relaxing muscular effort and stretch deep into the connective tissues of the body. Yin Yoga emphasizes deep relaxation and mindfulness and is designed to increase flexibility and promote joint mobility. It contrasts with more active styles of yoga, offering a calming and restorative practice that balances the body’s energy.

Caterpillar Nursery at Hoffman Park

The Caterpillar Nursery at Hoffman Park was started 2020 to share with the community the fragility and magnificence of nature in our backyard. The main inhabitants are Monarch caterpillars, which are now endangered. In the past 4 years, 100’s of butterflies have been named and released by children at the gardens. Dozens of library, preschool, camp, and Girl Scout groups have gathered around to learn and watch the caterpillars grow, form chrysalises, and emerge as butterflies. Our intentions are to spark a literal “butterfly effect” that opens all people’s eyes to the importance of taking care of the delicate natural world around us.

A Note of Thanks:

Thank you to School Districts 155, 26 and 3 for providing facilities in which to hold recreational programs; to Park District Commissioners, volunteers, and staff who devote so much of their time; and to you, the community, for your support.

Fees:

Resident/Non-resident - The first program fees listed in the brochure are for Cary Park District residents. Non-resident (NR) fees are listed second and are the higher rate of the two. Residents support the Park District through tax dollars, while non-residents pay to participate through higher registration fees. All account balances must be paid in full before registering for new programs.

Fair Share - Those desiring to achieve resident status may pay their “fair share” of taxes based on the taxable value of their home. This entitles an individual to pay in-district fees and register for programs at the same time as residents. Fair share will be applied over a 12-month period. Some exceptions apply, please refer to the Fair Share Guidelines found in the Forms section of carypark.com.

The taxable value of a property is stated clearly on the tax bill. Fair share in not necessarily for everyone. This has to be determined by you, taking into consideration the frequency of Park District use and the value of your home.

The inquiring individual should provide a copy of their current tax bill to the Superintendent of Recreation for review. The Fair Share amount will be calculated and a written reply will be sent. If you don’t have a copy of your current tax bill, call your taxing township for your home’s taxable value.

Waiver of Fees - A Waiver of Fees program is available to provide assistance to residents with financial hardship. Confidential application may be made to the Superintendent of Recreation. Personal financial records may be requested to verify need.

5 Easy Ways to Register

Rapid Reg – Online at carypark.com

This form of registration requires you to submit credit card payment and is also in “real time”; you will know immediately that you have been accepted into a class or program. Some programs are not available for online registration, but included for display purposes only. These programs can be registered using the following methods:

Mail In

Complete a registration form and mail the form with payment to:

Cary Park District

Attn: Registration 255 Briargate Rd. Cary, IL 60013

Fax

Complete a registration form and fax to 847.639.6290 (credit card payment required).

Drop Off Box

Place complete registration form and payment in a sealed envelope and drop off in designated box in the Community Center parking lot.

The Park District does not accept phone registrations.

Payment Accepted

The Cary Park District accepts checks (payable to Cary Park District), cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Do not pay with cash if mailing or dropping your registration in the drop box. Receipts will be issued upon registration at the Community Center for cash payment validation.

Residency Checks

Any registrations with payment in cash or by credit card, and no previous account history, are subject to having residency checked with a printed form of proof such as a driver’s license, utility bill, etc. Also, addresses on checks that do not match addresses on registration forms will be subject to a residency check. Individual families should register on one form. Multiple families listed on one form will prevent your registration from being processed.

Registration Confirmation

A registration confirmation will be provided only when a registration has not been granted (i.e., wait list). In this instance, a confirmation will be issued to confirm the status of these registrations.

Therefore, presume you are registered for a program unless you are notified otherwise by the Park District.

Satisfaction Guaranteed Policy

The Cary Park District guarantees your satisfaction with the recreation programs and activities in which you participate. If you are not completely satisfied for any reason, please let us know. You will be able to choose one of the following options:

1. Repeat the program at no charge.

2. Receive full credit that can be applied to another program.

3. Receive a full refund.

Withdrawal Guidelines:

Cary Park District reserves the right to cancel any program with insufficient enrollment.

All refund requests must be made on a Cary Park District withdrawal form and submitted to the Cary Park District office and not with the program instructor. All refund/withdrawal requests will be assessed a $5 service charge. If the second meeting of a program has passed, withdrawal requests will be considered on a prorated basis in addition to the $5 service charge. Refunds will not be issued after the third class meeting. Refer to withdrawal form for refund options.

Refunds will not be issued for one-day programs or events, sports leagues, tournaments or tickets to sports/entertainment/events or deposits for programs. Memberships, pool passes, Preschool, and ET KidZone withdrawals will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may require support documentation.
