We have had nothing but good experiences at this school and I feel is one of the better public schools around the Tempe area. Seems a little crowded at times, but, my daughter is doing well in her 1st grade class. She loves her teacher and has made good new friends in her class. She has learned alot this year, and is looking forward to 2nd grade at Rover.

Rating: 3 Posted: 12/30/2013 by parent Sadly, this school has gone downhill since we started here in 2008. The first three years were wonderful with awesome teachers and a vibrant community feeling. Since then some teachers have left and the community feeling is gone. Communication from the school is non-existent. It is a black hole where you drop your children off and hear little from (some) teachers and particularly the administration about what is happening, what the children are studying and learning about, school activities etc. Some teachers do not even let their students hear school announcements or say the pledge of allegiance. Other teachers in the lower grades continue to be outstanding. We will finish out time we have left to complete Rover hoping no other good teachers leave the school. We miss the caring open communicative energized environment of years past.

The teachers, principal and staff are excellent when it comes to the education and emotional growth of all students. I have been a parent at Rover for 5 years and I can't think of one negative thing to say about the school. 5 stars for sure!

Rating: 5 Posted: 1/17/2013 by parent Our son attended Rover Elementary last year for kindergarten. He was only four years old at the start of the year, so he had to test in. We were so blessed to have Mrs. Gilbert as his first teacher! All of the kindergarten teachers are wonderful, as is the librarian. The school offers wonderful programs such as Fame and Young Rembrandts.

I fully recommend this school to all parents who desire a complete educational experience for their children!

Rating: 2 Posted: 10/27/2012 by parent Relocated from Wisconsin with an only child. Her first year at Rover and honestly, her teacher is the best! Picking your child up is an absolute nightmare and I do not care for the principal. The principal never introduced himself to me and he had a horrible attitude when I did approach him about an issue. The Wisconsin school system is totally different, I am used to principals who care about the children they oversee and appreciate parent involvement. The staff needs diversity training. I would not recommend this elementary school after my experience.

3 out of 5 Rating: 5 Posted: 9/23/2013 by parent My son is in 6th grade and new to Fees this year. I can't say enough about how impressed I am with the Principal and teachers as well as the PTSA. The expectations are clearly communicated to the parents. I love that I know what is happening and be able to plan accordingly. I like that they use ParentVue so I can see my sons grades every day as well as a calendar of assignments. Teachers answer emails in a timely manner and communicate well. The PTSA is really open to new parents.

They are professional and keep meetings on time and useful. I am blown away about how much I really like it. I guess there might have been some past problems with this school from the low rating on Great Schools, but I can tell you this is no longer the case.

Rating: 5 Posted: 9/16/2013 by parent my son was receiving straight F's at the San tan school, prior to moving to Tempe. Ever since he started attending this school he is now back on track with straight A's. nothing else to say. the proof is in the pudding. thank you.

They work hard for our kids, to prepare them for a better academic and personal future. I love the orchestra program Mrs. Smith is a wonderful teacher.

Rating: 5 Posted: 9/11/2012 by parent Fees is a great school! 2 kids, many changes and still loving it. Admittedly, last year was the toughest with the principal out (he took a medical leave, eventually had to resign and sadly just passed)- discipline was not where it should have been and some kids took advantage (as kids this age will). This year Fees has a very strong principal who has the structure and discipline back in place. I love the teachers, it is obvious that they truly care about my kids. My kids are thriving academically and socially. I find it meaningful that they have so many elective opportunities (they get 2 electives every day which really allows them to excel in their given passions). The academics comes easily to both so it is nice to see them given opportunities through art, music and sports to become more well rounded.

I have found the faculty to be open to my communication and responsive. I appreciate their dedication to my children's education and their big hearts as they often go beyond the call of duty to provide the best opportunities for their students.
