Douglas Cole — Racine, Wis., Adrienne (Saputo) Hoyt — Atlanta, married Nathan Ross Hoyt on Sept. 1, 2013. Attendants included Matron of Honor Megan (Dieschbourg ’04) Parker, Man of Honor Carl (Rapisarda ’05) Vallely and Nicole (Carson ’04) Kohlmeier. The intimate ceremony was officiated by close friend Sarah Rose Gorke ’04. Nathan is a wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch, and Adrienne is a project manager at CNN Worldwide. The couple lives in the Buckhead community in the heart of Atlanta.

Heidi (Close) Nicholson — Quad Cities, married Jake Nicholson in West Bend, Wis., on Nov. 2, 2013. Jake and Heidi met through Jake’s sister, Erica Nicholson ‘07, who has been Heidi’s best friend since they met at Carthage. Jake and Heidi both work and live in the Quad Cities at the Illinois-Iowa border.
Miamisburg, Ohio, married Tamara McPeek on July 1, 2013. They were married in soccer jerseys, because they are big Arsenal Football Club fans. Darrell also has started a private practice for podiatry and is an associate for Kettering Podiatry Associates.

Tyler Schultz and Samantha (Kraimer) Schultz — Grayslake, Ill., welcomed their first child on Oct. 1, 2013. Madeline Grace weighed 7 pounds and measured 19 inches. Proud grandparents are Neil ’79 and Marla (Brauer ’79) Schultz. Proud great-grandma is Cynthia (Henrichs ’53) Schultz.
Darrell Ballinger —
and his brother, Randolph Cole ‘05, won the first Open Innovation Competition held by the nonprofit organization Launch Box in Racine, Wis. The Coles combined their business and mathematics backgrounds to identify solutions for a local company’s manufacturing problems.
Cassandra Torgerson — Viroqua, Wis., and Kaitlyn Karasek held their wedding ceremony on Sept. 21, 2013, on the ridge at Pine Hill Farm in Westby, Wis. They were legally married on Sept. 25, 2013, in Woodstock, Vt., while on their honeymoon.
Jackie Sonnenberg — Hoffman Estates, Ill., last fall debuted her first published novel, in the young adult urban fantasy/crime genre. “All That Glitters” tells the story of a jewelry thief making headlines around town, robbing stores clean without a trace. In addition to promotions and events, Jackie is at work on her second novel, a young adult paranormal, and is drafting outlines
Tristan Begotka — Pleasant Prairie, Wis., is a recent graduate of Illinois College of Optometry and is practicing at Regner Family Vision in Kenosha. His wife, Amber (Swank ’08), works for Baxter Healthcare in Deerfield, Ill. They are excited to be back in Kenosha, where they met.
Kathy (Jermal) Sinnen and Andrew Sinnen ’08 — were married on July 20, 2013, in Mount Prospect, Ill. Kathy works in development for the Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation, and Andrew works as an account manager for Sonoco. The wedding party included best man Cody Taylor ’09.
Carmelo Chimera — Oak Lawn, Ill., co-owner of Chimera’s Comics, opened a second store in Oak Lawn, Ill. The other store is located in La Grange, Ill. Besides comic books, the store carries licensed apparel, toys, magazines, graphic novels, and games, as well as seasonal items like Halloween costumes and school supplies. Chimera’s also sponsors a weekly podcast, “Caffeinated Comics.” Sean Hornyak — Neenah, Wis., has had two promotions since he started working for Diversey in Racine, Wis., in 2011. He is now a portfolio manager and manages marketing for more than 1,000 products. He has traveled around the country to help with trade shows
