Notas Doradas Zijin-Continental Gold News / December 2020 - Edition Nº45 Boletín número 38. Febrero - marzo

2020 was full of challenges, but it also gave us something to celebrate: the inauguration of the Buriticá Mine as a legal mining milestone in the country, which we have accomplished thanks to everyone's work. The month of December invites us to set new goals and kickstart a new year, full of dreams and purposes. The Company invited us to share these unfulfilled desires from our hearts, especially taking into account that COVID-19 interrupted and affected our lives one way or another. Family trips, studies, renovating an area of our home, being healthier, visiting a place, launching a startup, among others, were many of the dreams of our people at Zijin-Continental Gold. We congratulate Luz Amanda Benítez Ramírez, General Services Assistant; Huber Enrique de Ángel Salina, Automotive Electromechanical Technician; Rubén Darío Pérez, Heavy Machinery Operator III; Sergio Alexander Vera Gómez, Mining Operator II, and Carlos Andrés López, Explosives Assistant, who were selected by drawing lots and will receive a significant prize from the Company, to materialize their wishes.

We hope 2021 to bring many positive surprises and that we can continue to reach goals and fulfill our dreams.

From our CEO

Safer during Christmas

2020

a year of challenges and achievements

T

his was a year of many personal and work challenges. As a company, we had to adopt new ways to interact, rethink our paths, and adapt to a new reality within the context of COVID-19. In March, we took control of the Company and invested USD 100,000 in strengthening the hospital network in Western Antioquia, as the pandemic had been declared. Also, we collected COP 29,355,000 through Corporate Volunteering to help families of Buriticá. In 2020, we completed the construction of the Buriticá Mine and inaugurated it, accompanied by the President of the Republic, Iván Duque.

T

he Navidad Segura (Safe Christmas) Campaign is the HSE Department's invitation to always remember safety, especially in December and January, holiday months that bring risks that could be avoided.

Messages, videos, and talks with Juancho and Juanita remind us that we must take better care of ourselves, as COVID-19 is still among us. We invite you to remain vigilant. Remember that together, we make a difference! Jaime Lucas Daza, HSE Director "For now, COVID-19 neither has gone away nor is going to. This is why we need you to protect yourself by taking the basic preventive measures: using a facemask, frequent hand washing, avoiding crowds, and keeping social distance. Protect yourself and protect your family".

Thanks to our Siembra Futuro (Plant a future) program and the Western Antioquia Coffee Farming Alliance, we have supported more than 1,400 productive projects. We have strengthened more than 10 regional organizations through the Agriteam Canada's Comunica Project. We have helped six Western coffee units to exhibit their special coffee at the China International Import Expo (CIIE).

859 employees participated

in the retraining process! Updated information about our endeavors and priorities as a Company, and the importance of safety when performing daily tasks, among others, were the main topics in the retraining process that ended this month.

Our Mining Formalization Manager, Claudia Uribe, was selected as one of the three Colombian women to appear in the #WIM100 2020 international edition. Three of our collaborators and the daughter of one of our collaborators graduated from high school.

This retraining process meets our purpose of keeping up to date with the topics we are interested in as employees. Despite the difficulties generated from COVID-19, the attendance rate was 83%. A special session will be scheduled in January for our Chinese collaborators.

We rank 19th among the companies with the best social investment index in Colombia and 5th in the Brújula Minera's reputation ranking, two points above the ranking of the previous year. For the second consecutive year, we received the Mining Corporate Seal from the Governorship of Antioquia, who recognized our collaborator Lina Ramos as Antioquia Mining Woman 2020. We participated in the Colombia Gold Symposium, where we told our experiences for many people to learn. We hope our goals, initiatives, and purposes to be materialized in 2021. I encourage you to continue to contribute to our Modern Mining, which has set us as an example in the country. Let´s keep working together with pride and dedication.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We have entered into a new

environmental cooperation agreement

Z

ijin-Continental Gold, and Corantioquia renewed the cooperation agreement for the protection of the environment and rational use of natural resources, preventing and minimizing impacts on the environment and communities.

The agreement was signed at our plant nursery in Platanal. This area is now able to receive vegetal material donations for reforestation from the Company, the Governorship, and municipal governments within the framework of Corantioquia's BioMás program and Zijin Group's Mina Verde (Green Mine) world program. In this regard, James Wang, CEO Colombia of Zijin-Continental Gold, announced that we are already working on making the Buriticá Mine the first Green Mine in the country through better production processes and different programs, such as the revegetation of embankments within our mining complex in Higabra.
