Carroll EMC Impact Grants Help Communities Thrive in ‘25
Good things are happening in west Georgia, and Carroll EMC is proud to play a part. Because 82% of Members round their electric bill to the next dollar, the Carroll EMC Foundation was able to reinvest $112,659.52 back into the community through Impact Grants.
The annual grant program, which started in 2002, reflects the Co-op’s concern for community by supporting service-based projects that make a measurable difference in Members’ lives. This year, 36 charitable groups in Carroll, Haralson, Paulding and Troup counties were recipients of an Impact Grant. Areas of funding include health and human services, arts and culture, civic and community, education and safety.
“Look for unique and positive ways your organization can make a difference,” says Peppar Head, Carroll EMC Foundation Trustee. “Being a part of the selection process, it excites me to see the different ways our communities are going to be made even better.”
To apply for an Impact Grant, eligible 501(c)(3) organizations must have a vision or project in mind that would enhance the quality of life for communities within the Cooperative’s seven-county service territory. A representative must submit an online form that outlines the project and provides a detailed budget.

It is only through Member participation in the Operation Round Up program that the Cooperative is able to award Impact Grants. These funds are kept separate from Cooperative revenue and administered by the Foundation Board of Trustees who allocate the donations. ENERGY EFFICIENCY
TIP OF THE MONTH
With the holiday season approaching and more time spent in the kitchen, consider ways to save energy in the heart of your home. When possible, cook meals with smaller, energyefficient appliances, such as toaster ovens, slow cookers and air fryers. When using the range, match the size of the pan to the heating element. Keep range-top burners and reflectors clean so they reflect heat more efficiently. After your holiday meals are complete, load the dishwasher fully before starting the wash cycle.

Offices Closed for Thanksgiving

Carroll EMC has personnel on standby 24/7, year-round. Even on holidays, Carroll EMC is prepared for storms and outages.
Renew Your GATE Card
Please check your Georgia Agricultural Tax Exemption (GATE) card’s expiration date. If it expires in 2025, you must renew before December 31. The GATE program is an agricultural sales and use tax-exemption certificate issued by the Georgia Department of Agriculture that identifies its user as a qualified farmer or agricultural producer.
All Carroll EMC Members who are eligible under the GATE are required to renew their accounts that have been tax-exempt. The department will begin accepting renewal applications on November 1. You can renew online at agr.georgia.gov/ gate-program.
Remember to return a copy of both the GATE card and the GATE addendum to Carroll EMC. The addendum is also available on the website mentioned above and lists all accounts to be exempted.
