SILVER DWELLING
A residential project for seniors and all

In 15 years, society is bound to change as the population demographic grows more imbalanced. Seniors have a few concerns, not wanting to be alone, ease of access and medical care. This proposed architecture reimagines how seniors can still age gracefully while fostering a sense of community with others.
At the heart of the Old Kallang Airport area, a new residential protoype sits to accommodate not only seniors, but all walks of life as it engages residents and the public. It utilises visual engagement to bring people into the communal spaces.

DESIGN IN CONTEXT
Designing according to the site’s surroundings

MAGIC IN LITTLE INDIA
Designing according to what is magical about a place

I studied the environment in Little India and made observations on the doors of the back alley. A common trait in almost all the doors is that they are unwelcoming

The doors and walls divide the spaces into three, creating different experiences for the persona.
