A MESSAGE

FROM THE EVENT DIRECTOR

Hello - My name is Adrian Caraballo. I am a Latin American Canadian living in Barrie. I truly believed the City of Barrie needed a proper Latin Festival. This community is growing so quickly, and our waterfront was missing a flagship event like CARNIVAL BARRIE.

The goal for CARNIVAL BARRIE is to bring an exciting experience that will create awareness and appreciation to the variety and uniqueness of Latin American culture through a celebration of sharing our heritage with our community.

My MISSION for this festival is to be seen as an acknowledgment or as token of honor; recognizing all the sacrifices made by countless families leaving their countries, seeking better opportunities in CANADA.

My Parents did this for my sister and me - and I am forever grateful and offer this festival as a way to remember our ways and to teach my children their culture.

Being able to provide all visitors an experience where they can enjoy the depth of culture that is unique to each country WHILE celebrating the shared pride and love we all have for Music, Food & Dance.

I invite you to surround yourself with the sounds, smells and energy Latin culture can bring and thank you for participating. Please come say hi – I would love to hear your story and welcome everyone.

My name is Rosa Diaz and I’m a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant and the owner of Road Map to Canada Immigration Consulting. As an immigrant myself, I understand the anxiety and fear, as well as the optimism in making the decision to leave, immigrate and search for something better

I was born in Peru, but I spent my childhood living in Ecuador and Colombia In 2004 I decided to move to Canada for a better future I arrived in Vancouver as a student in 2005 where I attended college and then on to Toronto to study a postgraduate program After I completed the program, I worked for different companies including, major Canadian corporations While working, I applied for Permanent Residence Three years after I obtained Permanent Residency, I became a Canadian Citizen

I hold a Certificate in Immigration: Laws, Policies, and Procedures from the University of British Columbia- Canada. In addition, I am registered under the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) and a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC). Leave all the immigration processes to us and concentrate on getting ready for a fresh start.

Our mission is to make the dream of living in Canada a reality. Moving to a different country is a big step, especially when you are leaving your comfort zone, your family, your friends, and basically your entire life. In addition to this anxiety, you’ll be faced with the world of immigration. This world can look complex and difficult, with an overwhelming number of processes, forms, documentation, and information.
