It’s my pleasure to show you this programme to which we have put a lot of effort, in my opinion, one of the best and most complete of the last years, tradicional and varied at the same time, designed for all ages and full of fun, culture, entertainment, good music, traditional gastronomy and a lot more.
erja is prepared to dress up, to turn into joy, charm and colour. This village will surprise us, as usual, and exceed expectations in thrill, imagination and know-how-to-act of its people, in days of unique tradition that will be always remembered.
We are willing to awake and move thousands of people to participate in the acts programmed, to shroud in fantasy and enthusiasm, and make them live a unique carnival that we never get tired of saying: it’s the pride of those who love the carnival and
A programme for a festivity recognised as “Provincial Tourist Singularity”, designed for all the nerjeños and also for those who visit us for the first time or repeat the magic of Mr Carnal who, under some kind of spell , took on a special touch in our village. Many thanks to all of you who participate individually, in couples or groups, who surprise us every year with your creations and fantasy; to those people, companies and asociations that make possible the Carnival of Nerja with their support and cooperation; and of course, to the operational, health and security services for taking care of us in our festivities. Rosa Family in the streets of Nerja with his group”. Gabriel “Pecho mulo”, from 1998 to 2002, never missed the festivity. Hi has dedicated his life to Carnival.
he history of this family over the last 30 years is a life dedicated to live and enjoy the carnival. From their childhood, Belén and Loli never missed this event.
The two sisters have paraded with their group and have always won prizes in the Carnival Big Parade. Their family have made 6 Momos and Ninfas costumes, all of them have won the first prize. To all this must be added that Gabriel was chosen Momo of the carnival in 2004, and Belén was chosen Ninfa in 2005 and 2007.
Every year, their mother would make them a new costume they would enjoy like any child. In kindergarden “Los Pequeñecos”, with Angelita, they started singing chirigotas and living intensely the meaning of this festivity; that seed was sown to love the carnival. Many special moments have been lived. “We remember those years with much affection because my father has always loved the carnival and has always taken part actively in a big way, singing chirigotas
Undoubtedly, the Carnival of Nerja is synonymous with Rosa family. You mean a lot to the carnival of Nerja. Thanks for all, heralds!

The troupe Peña El Antifaz. “El Renacer”
The female troupe Peña El Antifaz from Torre del Mar is back in Nerja one more year, after the gap year in 2016, to show us a wide repertoire of great lyrics of carnaval signed by María del Carmen Guerra.
Group of Poti Poti with the band “Hermandad, humedad y paciencia”
You will remember them from 2015 and how they susprised us with “zociacion cultural forkloristica cebaura de abajo”, group with which the received the description of “revelation troupe”. Troupe of Landro. “Guardianes del futuro”
This is the fourth year of this young troupe formed by components from all over the Axarquía, and the fourth consecutive year they come to Nerja, where they say they feel like home. Troupe of Landro is back in Nerja, one of the villages that has seen them grow, to keep on growing up on its stages.
Band “Vitoria, malagueña y exquisita”
Straightaway from Teatro Cervantes, we will enjoy the participation of this group that has been amongst the finalists of Málaga Groups Contest. This year, they are visiting us with a song that has been Carnaval 2017 revelation. This troupe is synonymous with laughter, good music and lyrics, a luxury for the carnival of Nerja. For entry, a copy of the family book or residence permit is required to be presented in the Municipal Office of Attention to the Citizen (OMAC) located in Town Hall of Nerja, Carmen St. (Second floor) Tlf.952548476, managed by Mrs. Inmaculada Jiménez Carrillo, until 21st February 2017. The unregistered children will be able to go through the catwalk but will not compete for the prize. All children that have won a prize will be required to participate in the Great Carnival Parade on February 25th and in Chanquete’s funeral on February 26th.
