IRENE
Material perspectives of a contemporary Renaissance
"Irene" is a leap into the past.
It is the contemporary reinterpretation of the Renaissance woman: sober, elegant, apparently fragile, social expression of her own intellect.
She is the daughter of an outdated but foundational classicism; the wife of her political, artistic and literary desires; the mother of herself, the sovereign and creator of her own destiny.
The structure in chromed lattice is a clear reference to Brunelleschi’s linear centric perspective.
Thin, shiny. Almost invisible, but extremely strong.
It is the casket of an essence - the seat in olive wood -, a secret not to reveal too much, if not in its brilliant finish, without concealing the history inherent in its elegant veins.
