MONGOLIAN ENGLISH LESSON 28

I have translated only the begin, but please refer to quiz to check and improve your Mongolian.

QUIZ: ТА ХЭР ҮГИЙН БАЯЛАГТАЙ ХҮН БЭ?

Quiz: how rich is your vocabulary?

ТА = you, this is an honorary form of address people

ХЭР = HOW however this word it has many meanings according to dictionary. I shall report in Mongolian with English translation.

Related to aspects we have

бэлтгэлийн хэр -> how much training

2)

Аль, ямар, зэрэг: аль хэр (аль зэрэг), хэр зэрэг (аль зэрэг) -> What, what, degree: how (in which case), how much (in which degree)

хэрийн юм (ерийн юм, бага сага юм) -> how much is it (something good and a little bit)

хэр хэр (а. Юмыг зажлахад гарах дуу чимээний байдал; б. Чээжинд цэр торж хэржгэнэн ханиах дуу дэлгэрэнгүй -> how much (a) the noise level of the chewing gum, b) the phlegm, the cough and the cough

In one of the Mongolian dialect it means: a kind of dress

ҮГИЙН -> from ҮГ that has also many meanings like in үгийн баялаг -> wealth of words: the size of language

ХҮН -> people/man

БЭ -> a word for making questions

Мэдэхгүйн улмаас өч төчнөөн үгээр тайлбарлан нэрлэдэг үгийг халж, товч бөгөөд тодорхой ярьж сурцгаая..… Та тэр бүр хэрэглэхээ больсон зарим үгийг хэр сайн мэддэгээ туршаад үзээрэй.

Do not use many words to describe something but call the thing as they are, learn to speak in crisp and brief way .. Try your best to learn some new words you have never used

Textual analysis: Мэдэхгүйн -> ignore / do not know like in МЭДЭХГҮЙДЭХ (ignorance) and МЭДЭХГҮЙДЭЛ (loss of the ability to recognise features) улмаас -> due/because

өч төчнөөн -> very many

үг -3> word , but we have the expression, үг тайлбарлах -> reporting the meaning of the word, explaining. үгээр-> with the words, observe the change of the word according to case.

НЭРЛЭХ -> to call someone by name

хал -> challenge

Товч -> concise(adj)

бөгөөд -> connector between sentences, very often you can translate as “and”

тодорхой -> clear, circumstantial

сурц -> the learning process -> сурцгаая (learn it)

тэр -> that, usually can be used instead of article in Mongolian, like in тэр жил that year, a meaning a specific year between many

бүр-> each, every

ЗАРИМ -> some, half, someone, a part

мэдэх -> to know

туршигдах -> exposure to the test, to be tested

Useful words:

ТА = you, this is an honorary form of address people

та энд суугтун You sit here (showing respect to elder or guest)

хэдэн цаг болж байна -> what time is it?

Энэ ямар үнэтэй вэ? -> how much is it? But хэр зэрэг (аль зэрэг) -> how much?meaning to which degree.

улам бүр -> more and more

- бүр-> each, every

өнөө - today

БУС = other, different

нэмэгдэх -> increase

гэм-> crime

МАРТАХ - forget

ХЭР -> HOW

БЭ -> a word for making questions like in Хэн хэлсэн бэ? -> who said it?
