Category | Public policy Role | Design and Project Monitoring Specialist State | In process of Implementation Location | Coast, Andean, Amazon y Frost areas of Peru Year | 2018 >>> The PRONIED Furniture and Equipment Management Unit is the office in charge of supervising and monitoring the provision of furniture, equipment and provisional facilities in the country, in order to guarantee the proper functioning and educational continuity of public Educational Institutions that meet infrastructure in emergency and / or collapse. Until 2018, the provision of prefabricated modules for educational purposes throughout the country did not have precise technical specifications, so the attention in all regions of Peru was carried out with the same architectural typology. In that sense, from the UGME, new module designs with defined technical specifications have been made, which facilitate and make more efficient the processes of acquisition, transport and installation of prefabricated modules, which have an architectural design adapted to the different geographical and climatic conditions of the country, and that the conditions of the pedagogical, didactic, operational and support spaces required by the country’s educational institutions improve. The improvement and optimization of the prefabricated modules design has been carried out in order to meet the following conditions: 1. Differentiated attention by bioclimatic zone 2. Dry assembly for rapid manufacturing and installation 3. Modularity and scalarity as needed 4. Optimization of materials and economic resources 5. Quality standard of educational infrastructure

In their quest to consolidate their place of rehearsals, they dreamed of having “La Casa de los Muñecones”: a Cultural Center that picks up the essence of its people, a place to let imagination go to the limit, a space that is the benchmark of pride for the neighborhood and a culture point for the district. In that sense, the project carried out is part of a master plan for the ravine, contributing to the consolidation of cultural centrality, and constitutes a four-level building: First Floor - Public Level: the entrance is not just a place of passing, it is a place for meeting and enjoyment. The street extends inland and vice versa.

MASTER PLAN FOR REAL ESTATE PROJECT FD Architects & Urban Planners Category | Urban Project Role | Design and development coordinator State | Proposal Location | Piura - Piura - PerĂş Year | 2018 The assignment consisted of prospecting and analyzing possible exploitation scenarios for a property located in the city of Piura (Peru), based on an exhaustive urban analysis, as well as the review of the planning and local urban planning framework, seeking to recognize the complexity of the geographical space of the project land. Consequently, the proposal is made based on a systemic analysis of the project field, whether from the physical-spatial, environmental, landscape and risk, mobility, socio-economic and / or equipment aspects, to thereby identify the exogenous and endogenous variables that give value and / or affect its development in relation to its immediate and mediate environment. In this sense, the proposed development scenarios consist, albeit in a preliminary way, of integral urban planning and development proposals, on the basis of which a real estate project is constructed that is attractive and efficient, geographically resilient, environmentally responsible and economically viable. Likewise, the preliminary master plan proposes to establish and consolidate a natural interface that protects urban activities while preserving the natural environment of the river, and takes advantage of the economic momentum generated by infrastructure works conceived from the State. > From the project strategy (above), to the proposed area management (center), to the urban design of the real estate project (below).

CONCEPTUAL PLAN FOR INVESTMENT OF PRODUCTIVE PROJECT FD Architects & Urban Planners Category | Conceptual plan Role | Design and development coordinator State | Proposal Location | Monobamba - Jauja - PerĂş Year | 2017 The origin of the plan was from the interest of a family that owns a large plot (approximately 71 hectares) with high historical, landscape and agricultural value in the district of Monobamba, Jauja Province, to guide the urban and productive development of its property. The farm, located on the ecological floor of Yunga river (1640 - 1800 masl), is characterized by producing export products such as the cultivation of sugar cane, granadilla, avocado and coffee. It also has a large house and a sugar cane mill (trapiche) close to a century old. The purpose of the study was to evaluate possible paths towards a better use of the economic potential that the hacienda offers, identifying strategic actions that help to promote an incremental surplus value as opposed to random developments. For this, an investigation was carried out with professionals from various disciplines: environment and landscape, economy, heritage and restoration, tourism, urban planning and architecture. The investigation concluded with a conceptual master plan that lands the vision of development built for the farm, through specific proposals: > Urban planning (buildings and roads) of the hacienda > Agricultural Products Research Center > Rehabilitation and enhancement of Casa-Hacienda > Rural hostelry > Zoning of forests and crops (agroforestry) > Current situation of the hacienda house (above) and proposed management situation (below).

METROPOLITAN PLAN FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT OF LIMA AND CALLAO TO THE YEAR 2035 - PLAM 2035 Metropolitan Municipality of Lima Category | Urban and territorial planning Role | Junior architect State | Proposal Location | Lima y Callao - Perú Year | 2013 - 2014 PLAM 2035 has been the most recent attempt to plan the metropolis of Lima and Callao. It was conceived as a basic technical instrument that would guide the urban development and territorial planning of the metropolitan city, structured according to the following instruments: 1) Land regime, 2) Urban systems, 3) Regulatory Areas, 4) Functional Urban Networks , 5) Urban Programs and Structuring Projects, 6) Development Instruments, and 7) Execution and Management Instruments. As for the Urban Planning Programs and the Structuring Projects proposed, these were constituted [...] as an open priority portfolio of investments framed in the objectives of the PLAM, [...] allowing, among other objectives, “[..] .] generate the strategic and progressive activation of areas of the metropolis that can propitiate multiplier and accelerating effects of the investment process, as well as synergies of integral development in its environment. [...]. “ Within the framework of the PLAM, 246 projects were identified, as a recommendation, which would be strategic for the metropolis in the next 20 years. As a guideline, some of them were developed in order to shed light on the investment possibilities that would contribute to the achievement of the metropolitan development objectives and goals proposed by the PLAM.

> Specific context of the northern Lima centrality.

> Proposed situation: Vía Panamericana prioritizes pedestrians, rearranging vehicle flows.

The following projects stand out: > Transformation of uses and building densification in BRT route > Revaluation of the Mateo Salado Archaeological Site > New Centality of Lima Norte > New Centality of Z > Building-Bridge over the Metropolitan Station, at the intersection of Av. Tomás Valle with Av. Túpac Amaru

> Existing strip: predominance of industrial urban fabric in the batch-to-batch transformation process.

> Proposal for the articulation of the strip to the city through transverse connectivity with equipment and new urban developments that generate more and better public space.

> Bird’s eye view of the proposal for the new centrality for North Lima.

Finalist Project Sustainable Cities Contest

URBAN TRIAD: CONNECTING THE CITY Public Contest Category | Public space Role | Lead architect State | Proposal Location | Miraflores - Lima - Perú Año | 2017 The project is carried out within the framework of the Sustainable Cities Contest, organized by the Municipality of Miraflores, the Organization of American States and the Scientific University of the South. The proposal is made on the “Urban Triad” comprised of Ca. Hipólito Unanue, Av. Federico Villarreal (and Federico Villareal Park adjacent to the boardwalk), and Ca. October 8, in Sector “C”, adjacent to the gastronomic and mixed uses axis of Av. La Mar, whose design is currently oriented to the vehicle. These routes of local hierarchy and the park have the urban potential to be able to articulate and strengthen the main public spaces nearby: United Nations Park, Blume Park, Eduardo Villena Rey Park and Residencial Santa Cruz Parks, with the Malecon de la Costa Green, in addition to improving the conformation of the projected cyclovia network, and thereby contributing to overcoming the deficit conditions of public space in the sector. By virtue of this, the proposal of Regeneration of the “Urban Triad in the Urb. Santa Cruz”, is based on the following objectives: 1. Improve the urban space of Ca. Hipólito Unanue, Av. Federico Villareal, Ca. October 8 and the Federico Villareal Park to encourage walking. 2. Strengthen sustainable urban mobility in the Sector, linking to the projected cycloviary network. 3. Contribute to the appearance of uses at street level, contributing to citizen security. 4. Improve the environmental quality of the Urban Triad of Sector “C”.

> Linking the urban triad project to the Malecon of the Costa Verde of the Bay of Lima.

TARAPOTO’s MAIN SQUARE: NATURALIZING THE CITY Public Contest Category | Public space Role | Lead architect State | Proposal Location | Tarapoto - San Martín - Perú Year | 2016 The project was carried out within the framework of the Ideas Competition for the Improvement Project of the Plaza Mayor of the City of Tarapoto, organized by the Provincial Municipality of San Martín. The proposal seeks to highlight the symbolic relationship that the square has with the vegetable hills to the North East and the gorge of the Shilcayo River to the South East through an “incision” in the ground that follows the direction of the existing topography. The proposed urban design seeks to generate a civic and dynamic space, based on environmental comfort in order to promote more pleasant stays. To do this, the use of water is considered as the main element and organizer of space: water as an input for design and landscape. Likewise, it is proposed to expand the limits of the square and dilute the boundaries between the natural (green areas) and the built (the pavement), in order that the pedestrian can travel freely throughout the space and the conformation of sub-spaces that can adopt a specific character: space of social activities, space of civic activities, space of religious activities, or fair spaces or stay, as required by the Municipality.

> A place to be, recreate, manifest, look, walk and enjoy the landscape and the weather.

“ALAMEDA” RIVER PARK: WEAVING THE CITY THROUGH HISTORY

Long term

2 International Urban Design Workshop nd

Category | Public space Role | Co-autho State | Proposal Location | Ayacucho - Ayacucho - Perú Year | 2019 Today, the Alameda River is an urban space of approximately 8 km in length, which becomes a border and barrier in the city of Ayacucho, but offers opportunities for the establishment of a new public space that links the cardinal ends of the city. The field work allowed to identify three main sectors of intervention with predominant activities and conditions, which we approached through a territorial analysis of thematic layers: ecology, pollution, mobility, urban fabric, history, among others. Given the dimensional and territorial complexity of the scenario, a holistic approach to it was considered taking into account having a multidimensional, multiscale, multitemporal and multiactor perspective. In this sense, the proposal took as its premise history as a story and structuring element, and therefore, it raises the recovery of the historical relationship of the river and the city, the enhancement of collective memory and a water-sensitive urbanism. For this, we consider that it is necessary to recognize the level of complexity of operation between different scales, areas and times of implementation, ando also the stakeholders. In that sense we propose the following projects for each identified area:

> Moraspampa Integral Urban Project

Short term

Medium term

Long term

High sector: Intervention at the basin level + Retention dams + Moraspampa Integral Urban Project. Intermediate sector: San Lorenzo Axis Recover + Claiming the river. Low sector: Revaluing the valley + Protecting the valley. * Tutors: Ward Bervakel, Basil Descheemaeker and Mónica Rivera.

> San Lorenzo Axis Recover

9. FAJAS MARGINALES The biodiversity on the banks of the river needs to be protected. The flooding areas and wetlands can be installed with the participation of the neighborhood. In return, they can more easily obtain a property license. They become a social controlling mechanism to secure the banks and preserve ecology.

8. PRODUCTIVE VALLEY The decontamination of the river first and foremost needs to happen by bringing the river visually and physically back to the citizens of Ayacucho. While decontamination is diminished the productive valley in the north of the city has to be safeguarded from expanding urban settlements. A way of doing this is by restoring flooding areas and wetlands alongside the river.

9

7. RESTORING THE OLD CHANNEL

The old channel leading towards the (now) empty fountains on plaza mayor is revitalized together with the aquaduct of sutuqchaka. As such, a new path is introduced from the historical centre towards the ecological park in the South of the city. The water of the channel is used to irrigate native trees alongside the path. ‘Pico de Loro’ and ‘Quinoa’ are used to offer the passengers shade from the burning Andean sun.

6. PUENTE NUEVO

By fully opening the river and bringing Alameda river back into the urban landscape, people are allowed to reconnect with the Alameda river. By making San Lorenzo pedestrian friendly, the street becomes an avenue to stroll and engage in public activities.

5. MUSEO DE ARTESANIA

In the neighbourhood ‘de Tenerias’, the craft museum finally gets an urban square where tourism, cafés and economy can flourish. Huamanga can exposte their unique crafts in this museum.

4. COMPOST PILOT PROJECT

The botanical garden is complemented with a pilot compost project. On the one hand, this educative compost project helps to teach young (and old) about the importance of recycling, gardening and biological processes. On the other hand the produced ‘tierra negra’, or fertile soil, can be used to fertilize the botanical garden and other green parts of the city.

3. MORASPAMPA

4

On the verge of the city and nature, a botanical garden learns children, adults and passengers about the native flora and fauna of Ayacucho. Some kiosks sell seedlings and herbs. The neighborhood is involved in the implementation of the parks and guides visitors around. .

3 2. PUENTE PEREZ

An ancient aquaduct is connected to Moraspampa with a new trail and clear wayfinding elements. In some parts the river is crossed with walkable dams retaining the waterflow to the city. UNSCH university can play a role in collection water data from the river.

1

2 1. HIGHLANDS

In restoring Alameda river, we can not forget to mention the importance of the headwaters, the true origin of the river. To guarantee a continuous flow of water, the biodiversity in the hightlands needs to be maintained and reforestated. In addition to this, the tributaries to Alameda river need to be inforced and maintained as well.

1
