INTRODUCING STUDY: SITUATION Alicante Alicante is a city located in the south-east of Spain, on the Mediterranean coast. It has great weather so it is visited by many tourists. This feature also helps out to public space, a factor that interests us in this work.

Besides its dimensions are not very big, so getting around the city is pedestrian homeliness and encouraged to stay on the outside.

INTRODUCING STUDY: DESCRIPTION Given good weather and low rainfall levels, alicante should be a city with a large influx of pedestrians through the streets. However it is characterized by its full seats.

At first glance the city we can see are more frequented areas with commercial activity and with bars and restaurants. This place is full of historical content, as part of the origins of the city. This gives great strenght to the live of the square. Inside content a portion of the historic wall of Alicante.

This is located in the center of the square and makes division between two differents spaces, and is located near the neighborhood of rabal. This wall is very important partof history, and this is why, this should serve in some way tor ecovert his.

woodland found in the interior of the square can be considered a strength, since its geographical location no abundance of green space and is necessary to provide these places to the city. Also found two typical species of this city such as the palms and ficus and other varieties. interest: its content, this square has force the user type that frequent the area and could not. ANALYSIS SWOT- WEAKNESSES In a anilisis on the weak points of the square we can observe as the sidewalks are not wide enough to happen activities therein, are narrow and require travel on them, making it impossible to pass the rest if you stop for a few seconds. On the other hand, the square is surrounded by road traffic leaving it, thus isolated as if it were an island.

The pavement is much smaller than the road.

2. The plaza is divided in two differents parts, by the old wall. You only can pas to the other side by the stairs wihich are in the two extremes of the plaza 3. The lightings is yellow and doesn’t lit all the plaza. We can find some dark spaces

ANALYSIS SWOT- OPPORTUNITIES This space offers plenty of choice opportunities. We found a great parking in front, crossing the avenue, without making us somewhat from the parking areas that are in our area. Besides the street on the left is dispensable since traffic could continue to flow in both directions.

Right across from our place we found the tram infrastructure that is currently disused which could be revitalized and give strength to the project.

In this square we found several empty buildings for sale, that could be a good opportunity to revitalize the squares.

CONCLUSIONS

This work is done with the purpose of studying the factors involved in good public space and with the aim of making the most of all the favorable conditions offered by the context on which we act . Today we are in a situation where sometimes the design of urban space is not going hand in hand with the maintenance of historic heritage , a situation that raises the question of whether to revitalize public space is necessary to break with all and projecting above zero . It is true that sometimes it can be annoying for design, but otherwise it gives identity to the city and it is something that the user needs . Otherwise the city would lose its identity. In the city of Alicante we can find clear examples that make us think about it. In the case of public space studied , square paseito ramiro , we found a situation where at a certain point they had to bring this up . Some remains of the old wall of Alicante were found and it was decided to rescue them . However the resulting square, within the items we have read, does not have the success that was the last. Therefore, this paper attempts to analyze and find a possible solution in that success comes from the hand of the conservation of the heritage and experience of the user.

Therefore, our project of the square comes after the analysis of the situation.
