We acknowledge that Carleton Place is situated on the unceded, traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people.
For countless generations, the Algonquin people have lived in harmony with this land, travelling the rivers, caring for the forests, and sharing stories that continue to echo through the region today. The Mississippi River, a defining feature of Carleton Place, has long served as a vital travel route and lifeline for Indigenous communities. As you explore, we invite you to walk with respect and curiosity — honouring the history, cultures, and contributions of those who came before us.
Miigwetch. Thank you.
