Police receive call from distraught minor kicked out of residence

On April 10, police attended a residence in Viking to conduct a curfew check. The person in question was not home as required so was non-compliant with his release document. A charge for failing to comply with an order is pending.

On April 11, police received a complaint of stolen batteries from a business in Viking. Police received information on a possible suspect and location of the stolen items. A search warrant for the property was requested and granted but when police conducted their search, the stolen items were not located. Police were unable to obtain enough evidence to pursue a charge.

That night, police conducted another curfew check at a residence in Viking. The person in question was not at the residence as required.

Aaron Alexander Robertson has been charged with Section 145(5)(a) CC-Fail to Comply with a Release Order and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

On April 13, police received a request to check on the wellbeing of an individual in Viking. Police spoke with the person in question who advised he was fine. The complainant was updated.

That afternoon, police received a call for assistance from a distraught minor who had been kicked out of the residence in Viking where she had been residing. Police attended and assisted the teen with making arrangements to find a place to stay in southern Alberta.

On April 14, police received a request to check on the wellbeing of an infant in Viking. Children’s Services had also been contacted and attended as well. The baby was apprehended by Children’s Services and they are continuing to follow up with the family.

Also that day, police received a complaint of mischief to a vehicle in Viking. The complainant advised the door lock had been punched and the handle ripped off but access was not gained. There was no evidence left behind to further an investigation and police do not have any suspects at this time.

That afternoon, police received a request to check on the well-being of an individual who had been sending concerning text messages to the complainant. Police spoke with the person in question who advised she was fine and had no plans to harm herself. The complainant was updated.

On April 15, police received a complaint of a truck towing farm equipment on

Highway 26 which was almost forcing oncoming traffic into the ditch. No license plate or vehicle description was provided. Police made a patrol but did not locate the vehicle in question.
