Volunteer Appreciation

Luncheon thanks community

A Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon was held Monday at the Viking Seniors Centre as a way of honouring and thanking everyone in the community for all their efforts throughout the year in making Viking and area a welcoming place for all its residents. National Volunteer Week is April 16-22 and this year’s theme was “Volunteering Weaves Us Together.” Those who attended the luncheon in Viking enjoyed a beautiful meal, speakers and gifts. The luncheon heard from Viking/Beaver FCSS Director Dawn Chrystian and other that, “Our communities have incredible volunteers who take the action of volunteering to new heights each and every day!” Another luncheon will be held on Saturday at the Holden Community Hall for volunteers in that area.
