District Goals 2023-2024 Every year at the beginning of the new CKI year, the newly appointed board publishes the goals for the district. The timeline to complete these goals runs from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, for this CKI year.

District Governor Wendy-Ann Ivey Hi CKI Fam! I am Wendy-Ann Ivey, and I will be serving as your District Governor for this CKI Year. I am currently a third year Law Student at the University of the West Indies - Mona.

A personal goal of mine is to revive the inactive clubs and members within our district; I want our members to not just pay their dues, but to be fully active members. My biggest goal for the year however, is to establish a CKI Caribbean District Scholarship for our members. This scholarship will serve as an incentive in getting persons to be more active in CKI. I am truly excited and honoured to serve as Governor for the CKI Caribbean District and I look forward to working with you all this year as we continue to “Live to Serve & Love to Serve."

District Secretary Keysedene Planter

Salut my fellow service lovers!

My name is Keseydene Planter, and I am thrilled and honoured to serve as your District Secretary for this year. Like many of you, my passion for service led me to join Circle K. But as I progressed on my journey, I realized it takes courage to step out of your comfort zone and achieve your goals.

My primary goal is to establish a supportive and safe environment for secretaries, fostering a community of like-minded individuals who can offer support and tips for a balanced life, potentially extending beyond their individual tenures.

It's not just about serving our clubs; we also owe it to ourselves to achieve our best version. And to do that, we need to ensure we're in the best mental state. As Helen Keller said, "Alone, we can do so little, but together we can do so much". Creating a supportive community can significantly contribute to our collective success.

Lastly, let me leave you with a philosophy I live by: never let fear stand in the way of becoming the best version of yourself. I believe that we can conquer anything if we have the courage, the passion, and the support of one another. Together, let's make this Circle K year incredible, fulfilling, and fruitful.

District Treasurer Petrecia Morrison Hey Everyone!

My name is Petrecia Morrison and I am your Caribbean District Treasurer for the year 2023-2024. I am currently a 2nd year student at the University of the West Indies, Mona. As District Treasurer I aim to increase our membership and more importantly improve retention. It is furthermore my goal to assist with and ensure overall engagement within the district.

I am excited to work as DT and I will ensure that my role is impactful as possible as we aim to make our District better than ever before as we soar to new heights of service. Remember to Live to Serve, Love to Serve!

Lieutenant Governor Sunshine Division Derron Wright Bright and blazing!

Greetings, I am Derron Wright, Lieutenant Governor for the Sunshine Division for this CKI year. A student of the University of The West Indies, Mona-Western Jamaica Campus majoring in Management Studies and Banking & Finance.

My goals are very simple, to create a division that supports each other in every way possible, and to just have fun while doing service.

Lieutenant Governor Crystal Division Demarrie Brown

Hello guys, I am Demarrie Brown the Lieutenant Governor of the Crystal Division and a student at The Caribbean Maritime University pursuing a bachelor's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. If you asked me to define myself in three words, they would be cheerful, responsible, and dependable.

I am delighted to have been elected as the LG of this division, and I look forward to working closely and diligently with all nine (9) member clubs. My goal as LG is to guarantee that my clubs are up to code and properly equipped to organize and execute successful club events, all while fellowshipping and growing with one another.

The year ahead promises to be full of interesting activities that uphold our three tenants of CKI: service, leadership, and fellowship. So, keep an eye out for fantastic stuff from the Crystal Division. CRYSTAL LOUD AND PROUD !!!

Lieutenant Governor Palm Division Kymani Henry Heyyy guys, Lieutenant Governor Kymani Henry here from the Palm Division. I am a 4th-year University of Technology student Majoring in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management.

As your LG for the CKI year 2023–2024, my objectives will be to promote diversity in our division and create lifelong connections, all while having fun as we serve our communities.

The coolest division should expect vybz, fun and service this year. Until then, Stay Shady.

District Administrator Leo Williams Snr. Hi everyone, The summer holidays are traditionally the quietest period of the CKI Administrative year, with CKI Members going home for the holidays or visiting family/friends overseas or going on the popular "Work&Travel" program.

Interestingly, we always move from our slowest period to our busiest with the start of the school year in

September (recruiting period), which takes us into our dues collection period, then into the Christmas period. My advice to successfully navigate through the sudden change of pace from slow to very fast is *PLANNING*. If you haven't been doing so yet, please use what is left of the summer holidays to plan your CKI activities in the new school year because before you know it,it's upon us.

Remember, the District Board and your Kiwanian Mentors are here to assist you with these plans, so use us !!

International Trustee Deanna Fisher My name is Deanna Fisher and I am so excited to be your International Trustee for the 2023-2023 year! I just graduated from a Forensic Science degree, and am now starting my Masters in Chemistry and Biochemistry. When not researching in the lab, you can find me hiking, birdwatching, painting, reading, or curling. I’m involved in various volunteer organizations, with a major focus on inspiring and encouraging women into science fields, and changemaking initiatives. This is my second term as International Trustee.

I am happy to be representing the Districts of Caribbean, Pacific Northwest, and Western Canada. I’ve held almost every District and International position under the sun - so feel free to reach out about my experiences, and seeing what position may fit you best in the future!

Prior to CKI, I was in Key Club all through high-school and this will be my 10th year in the Kiwanis Family. I’m here to support you as much as I can, so please feel free to reach out (trusteedeanna@circlek.org) if I can help in any way, or to just chat. I can’t wait to see what this year brings and to work with you all!

To ensure everyone’s on the same page, there are four (4) main things every Circle K’er should know. Those four (4) things are: the tenants, the motto, the pledge and the ideals

THE MOTTO

“Live to Serve, Love to Serve” The Caribbean District is extremely passionate and tends to stress the ”love” in the motto, so we say “Live to serve, looooooove to serve!”

THE PLEDGE

“I pledge to uphold the objects of Circle K International, to foster compassion and good will towards others through service and leadership, to develop my abilities and the abilities of all people, and to dedicate myself towards the realization of mankind’s potential.”

THE IDEALS

To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.

To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

To promote the adoption and the application of high social, business and professional standards.

To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.

To provide through Circle K clubs a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
