Do you care about the quality of your education and school system? Do you care about your health insurance cost and coverage? Do you care about the rights of women to make their own decisions? Do you want more jobs? Do you want a higher minimum wage? Do you care about Immigration Reform? Do you care about Health Care Reform? ……DO YOU CARE? If you answered yes to all of the Questions above then your answer to the Question “Did You Vote” better be YES!! Did the Republican party win the mid-term elections? YES! Are there more Republicans in America than Democrats? NO! Did more Republicans turn-out and Vote? YES! What was the Republican Agenda since 2004? These words, the song and the lyrics were written over 50 years ago to address the conditions in the world; have we evolved, improved recovered, seen the light….or any of the above in the past 50 years. Are we still at ‘War’ with ourselves?

Let’s evaluate and take a closer look at our 2-term, democratically elected President; President Barack Obama; by no means is he a perfect President, there are many things that many of us think he should have done differently but again none of us are there sitting in his position facing the issues, forces and negotiations that he has had to face on a daily basis. Anyway the facts, just the facts: position of Opposition. Is that the best politics for the people of America? NO! Is the blocking of progress what you want for your community, your city, your State or America? NO! If you didn’t vote, if you didn’t do your part to make sure all of your friends and family voted, if you didn’t do your best to get the message out to Vote; then, I’ll modify Bob Marley’s words slightly, next time . . . Get Up, Stand Up, Vote ……or SHUT UP!!!! In 6 years under President Barack Obama we have made incredible progress as a Country, yet politicians both Republican and Democrat are not taking the opportunity to stand on his shoulders and embrace the progress but rather they are, in some cases avoiding his endorsement or support and in other cases making statements like ‘We will now take back America for Americans’…..sorry but I’m confused; are the Republicans planning on taking America back, as in backwards, into the depression we were in under the 2 terms of the Bush administration? Any political candidate, Republican, Democrat or Independent, should be thankful for the opportunity to be the next President coming in behind our President Barack Obama……he’s made your job easy; just keep doing what he’s been doing for the last 6 years or rather 8 years. Are we judging President Obama based on his accomplishments, based on the facts or based on the color of his skin?
