PollyPlace is centrally and strategically located between the cities of Nairobi to the south and Thika to the north. We are also just about 40 minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Check in and Check Out Times
Check in Time is 3pm. Check out time is 11am. However, should you need extra time to check due to a late flight or other circumstances, please let us know at least 24 hours before your check out date. We will try as much as possible to accommodate a late check out up to no later than 6pm.
This area is adequately served by Uber should you need help with transportation getting around during your stay. Taxi service is also available on local listings and by searching on Google.

ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATION
APPLIANCE INSTRUCTIONS / INFORMATION
KITCHEN EQUIPMENT
For your convenience, the kitchen is well equipped with all you need to while you stay here.
The Dishwasher: It's very simple, we promise! We provide a supply of tablets - you will need to insert one into the flip box container on the inside of the dishwasher door. Then press the program button of your choice - there are a few settings which are obvious - then press the start button.
The Fridge/freezer: You should not need to adjust any settings. If you run into any difficulties (e.g. it's not cooling efficiently) please let us know.
The Hob and Oven: The hob is a five burner gas hob, and the electric oven and grill is double width. When grilling please leave the door open.

LAUNDRY APPLIANCES
We have a washer located in the utility room on the top most floor. Due to abundant tropical sunshine, we use the sun as the dryer and disinfectant. Please treat your garments to free sunshine after you launder them upstairs. Drying lines with pins are provided upstairs by the washer as well. There is a supply of detergent and softener and you are welcome to purchase more from the stores around should you run out.
The property has an alarm. We will share the details with you separately. Whenever you leave the property we strongly suggest you set the alarm. This is a safe area but it always pays to use all the available security features.
GARBAGE DISPOSAL & RECYCLING
You will find garbage cans in the kitchen area and there are trash cans provided in other rooms as well. Once these are full, please take them out using the kitchen side door. They will be handled from there. There are no specific days when you should take garbage out, do this anytime the bins are near full.

SAFETY AND SECURITY
This area is generally safe and quiet and so we have not installed any alarm devices. The house is however gated. Depending on the length of your stay, you got a key to open the main gate as you get out and get in. If you need any help please let us know.
Even though the area is generally safe, precaution is advised and we discourage you from taking any walks late at night after dusk. Do not answer the door to any strangers or open the gate to anyone you don’t know.

TV SET AND
ENTERTAINMENT
The living room has a 60” Smart TV for your entertainment. The TV has Youtube, Netflix, etc
The master bedroom is also equipped with a 48” Smart TV for entertainment there.
The master bedroom has also has jacuzzi system.
Please note that in all rooms and especially the bathrooms, hot water may take longer than usual to get comfortably hot. We are aware of this inconvenience and we hope to have it rectified in the future. Please wait a few minutes before the water gets comfortable to use for shower or bathe.
BREAKAGES
We understand that sometimes accidents happen! Should you break anything please let us know immediately - if it's minor we usually won't charge. If it's a larger issue (e.g. the TV screen!) we would like to agree the cost with you before you leave to avoid any issues later. Thank you.

SAFETY INFORMATION & RENTAL RULES
RULES & REGULATIONS
PETS
Service animals are welcome at no extra fee. However, there is a $50 fee for regular pets such as cats and dogs. Please disclose upon arrival if you have any pets. We highly discourage reptile pets such as snakes or lizards. If you have any of these, please let the manager know when you are checking in. Birds as pets can stay for free. Please clean after all pets.
QUIET TIMES
Local ordinances strictly impose 10pm as quiet time and neighbours can call on you if loud noise persists after 10pm. No partying after 10pm is allowed.
SMOKING & VAPING POLICY
This house is strictly a smoke free zone. No vaping is allowed inside the house either. A $150 fine will be assessed on you should cleaners find cigarette butts or evidence of smoking inside the house. Smoking can be done outside the house on the porch or patio. Please allow yourself some extra time outside for odor to dissolve outside while you are outside.

The name of this estate is Riverwood estate and the house is on Riverwood Drive, off Thika Road, Ruiru. On Thika Road from Nairobi towards Thika and just before you get to Ruiru after Kenyatta University, look for and take exit 12, drive on and pass 2 petrol stations, Astrol and Ola, then take a sharp left turn and drive as if you are going backwards. The turn is before the shell Petro station. Keep driving and you will see an estate to the left. Take the loose surface road on the left. You will see Goodwill estate and the second entrance will be Riverwood estate. Enter through security to the house.
