College of Education celebrates women empowerment

To brace women empowerment and gender equality across the country, the College of Education of Capiz State University Burias Campus took part in celebrating the National Women’s Month with the theme “We Make Change Work for Women” and the sub-theme “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran,” which generally highlighted the active contributions of women in the society as well as their power to make choices and to let their voices be heard.

The COE picked the afternoon time of March 30, 2022, to give tribute to female mentors, commemorate their achievements, and recognize all the things they have done and will continue to carry

out for the development of the nation.

Dr. Ma. Venus B. Lozada, COE Dean, and Dr. Rodyard B. Madiclum gave opening remarks and words of appreciation, respectively.

Male professors also expressed their messages to women, followed by viewing an inspirational video, and joining numerous games and Zumba activities.

“Celebrating Women’s Month is a chance to recognize women’s varied, and often under recognized, accomplishments throughout history. It is a great time to celebrate women who make a difference in our lives: perhaps a mom, grandmother, sister, or a teacher,” Prof.

“I want to encourage them and make them feel special and strong. Also, I want to encourage them to speak up and make sure that they know the value of their opinions so that they will never feel scared to use their voice,” she added.

The entire celebration of 2022 National Women’s Month spanned from March 1-31. To signify the support of the university for the annual occasion, the Office of the Gender and Development initiated several activities for the whole, including Purple Tuesday, Musika ng Kababaihan, Zumba Dance, the opening of GAD Library Corner, EIC materials making, and a film making contest.

PSABE students join conference towards a sustainable and food secure nation

the outset of the 3rd Visayas Wide PSABE-PPG Annual Conference dubbed as “VISCON 2022,” a yearly celebration initiated by the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, the PSABEPPG Chapter of Capiz State University Burias Campus joined and played a part in the annual conference conducted by PSABE, which was held virtually on February 8-9, 2022.

With the theme “ABE Technology Optimization: Catalyst towards a Sustainable and Food Secure

Nation,” the celebration centered on the agricultural and biosystems engineering profession in the new normal through featuring presentations and learning sessions from several engineers, which were comprised of Engr. Jerson Era, ASEAN Engr. Crestituto C. Mangaoang, Associate ASEAN Engr. Raymond R. Andres, and Engr. Andres M. Tuates.

This covered activities, like plenary as well as presentation of technical papers concerning the research, development, extension, and trends in Agricultural and Biosystems (AB) Machinery and Power, AB Land and Water Resources Engineering, AB Engineering, AB Process Engineering, Furthermore, Mr. Christian De Pablo, a 3rd-year student and the current president of the PSABE-PPG Burias Chapter, was elected as the new PSABE-PPG Visayas Chapter Vice President.

CAPSUNIAN Echo holds virtual journalism training

With the theme "Amplifying Campus Journalism through Strengthening Roles, Responsibilities and Practices,” CAPSUNIAN Echo, the official campus publication of CAPSU Burias, hosted the two-day Amplifying the Echo: A Virtual Journalism Training on March 17 and 19, 2022 via Google Meet and Facebook Live.

The said pursuit introduced several speakers from different academic institutions who imparted their experiences and encounters, as well as partook their expertise and knowledge concerning the ways to improve writing, conduct interviews, layout, and become a member of a school publication.

The virtual journalism training was attended by journalism mentors and trainers, including Ma'am Aira Jane V. Villa, Ma'am Lucille G. Montorio, Ma'am Clariza C. Satorre, Sir Apple John Satorre, and Prof.

Raymond Silvestre.

As campus journalism plays a pivotal role in schools, studentwriters further enhanced their journalistic skills by putting it into the practice of making a newsletter, a contest organized by the same school organization.

CapSU Burias holds 5th Employees' Appreciation Day

CAPSU Burias employees unites in Employees Appreciation Day at the Gymnasium, April 21.

To honor the employees for their hard work and perseverance at work, Capiz State University Burias Campus celebrated 5th Employees Appreciation Day last April 21, Thursday.

The program was graced with different activities such as Zumba Challenge and various Parlor Games which were enjoyed by the attendees.

Employees Association of Burias Campus (EABC) President Emily P. Launio expressed her gratitude to the campus administration, donors, judges and everyone who supported the event.

Induction of new EABC Officers happened in the afternoon part of the program.

Employees are said to turn vision into reality, therefore treating them with love, respect, and appreciation is appropriate.

On April 6, 2022, Wednesday, Capiz State University Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Susan O. Dangan, together with her team carried out an inspection in relation to the preparations of CAPSU Burias Campus for the possible limited face-to-face classes.

According to the guidelines issued by the OVPAA, the monitoring and evaluation of buildings, classrooms, laboratories, eating/dining area/communal areas, and library should be undertaken for continuous quality improvements, to oversee and assess the retrofitted facilities, and generally, to safeguard the health and safety of the students, faculty members, and the administrative staff who will be involved.

All throughout the task, Dr. Dangan and her team were accompanied and assisted by the Quality Assurance Director, Dr. Rosel L. Dionio, the University Librarian, Dr. Marriane A. Escleto, and by the teaching staff of CAPSU Burias.

CAPSU Burias aids Agaton victims

Dela Rosa Jr. With the onslaught of tropical depression Agaton, the Office of Student Affairs and Services, NSTP-DRRM and Services, and Supreme Student Council of Capiz State University Burias Campus organized a "Hatag Mo, Buylog Sa Kalisod" donation drive on April 14 to help those who are severely affected by flooding.

"We are humbly knocking at the door of your generosity. Any donation will be much appreciated. Rest assured that your genuine gesture of kindness will reach those areas most badly affected by the calamity," a post on the Supreme Student Council CAPSU Burias Campus Facebook page read.

Meanwhile, a total of 111 food packs and 10 bags of clothes were distributed to victims of the

To strengthen the value of leadership and camaraderie amidst the pandemic, the Future Leaders of the Philippines – CAPSU Burias Chapter conducted its 12th Local Chapter Week Celebration last March 22-24, 2022 via Google Meet and Facebook Live with the theme “Redefining Leadership in the New Normal and Beyond.”
