Weatherly Festival returns this weekend
TROPICAL STORM HENRI caused considerable damage around our area. Road damage like that above, along Lehigh Gorge Drive between Weatherly and White Haven, and that below, along River Road in Kidder Township east of White Haven, with a closeup at the bottom, show the power of the up to 6 inches of rain received in a short period of time on Sunday night. PennDOT has closed River Road until repairs are completed.
The annual Weatherly Festival will be held at Eurana Park on Friday, August 27 from 5 - 10 p.m., and on Saturday, August 28 from Noon - 9 p.m. Live entertainment will be provided by the 60s and 70s soft rock group, Sovereign Soul, on Friday from 7 - 9 p.m., by Just Us Polka on Saturday from Noon-2 p.m., and by North of 40 on Saturday from 5 - 9 p.m. The festival will feature a tricky tray raffle, which will be located at the Festival Committee tent, and numerous craft and vendor stands.
