Lake water testing offered to Penn Lake residents by Seth Isenberg

Penn Lake’s borough council has arranged to do random periodic testing of the water in the lake to try to get a better idea of the water quality throughout the entire lake. Lake front property owners can arrange get tests done in the water in front of their land. This was explained during Penn Lake’s council meeting on April 14. Those interested in their own lake water test will have to cover the cost, $26, and must contact Dan Eustice by May 15 to

Streamline, consultants to borough council on the dam project, reported to the dam advisory committee that they have made progress on convincing key state official decisionmakers that the existing spillway can be improved, rather than torn out and replaced. are being sought so repairs can be approved, then ideally completed in May. During public comment, there was more discussion about goose feeding and the fines. Also discussed was the relationship between the borough and the Penn Lake Association. The organizations are close, and may work closer as the PLA explores some new ideas. It was agreed to give time for the association during the May council meeting.
