friends & guests Thank you for joining us for the 17th Annual Gift of Time Gala, presented by Nicola Wealth. We are honoured to have your support as we celebrate the timeless love that surrounds Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. This past year has been the most challenging environment we have ever faced and the phrase “thank you” does not seem big enough to express our deep appreciation for all of your support. We would like to extend a huge thank you to our presenting partner, Nicola Wealth. We are so very grateful for your extraordinary commitment to provide care for children and families. Thank you to our Gift of Time Gala Co-Chairs, Heather Finlayson,

Dr. Tarnia Taverner, Chief Executive Officer

Jill Donaldson, and Robyn Lalani, and the exceptional volunteer Gift of Time Committee who contribute their creativity and passion each year to make this evening so memorable and impactful. We acknowledge and appreciate your determination and resilience. Tonight we are joined by Canuck Place parents Sharon and Glenn Bulger. We thank Sharon for sharing the story of their son Cameron who received care at Canuck Place. Our families’ journeys are filled with strength, challenges, and hope. Your support ensures families like the Bulgers receive care when and where they need it most. With much gratitude,

Bob Smart, Board Chair

A Privilege to Present the

Gift of Time

Today, we continue to find ourselves navigating uncertainty in challenging and transformational times. While the world adapts to emerge from the challenges of the pandemic, Canuck Place children continue their battle against life-threatening illnesses and Canuck Place staff continue to provide around-the-clock care, supporting the urgent needs of the children and their families. Since the beginning of this year, CPCH has witnessed an immense need for mental health and counselling support for families who are feeling isolated and alone, now more than ever. Fortunately, the important work of Canuck Place reaches outside the walls of their hospices and into families’ homes across our vast province. Virtual care has been foundational for many years at Canuck Place; assisting the organization to deliver care to families at home, ensuring no one walks the journey through pediatric palliative care alone, no matter where they live. We at Nicola Wealth appreciate the remarkable work of the Canuck Place doctors, nurses, administrators, volunteers, and community. We are truly honoured to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s Gift of Time gala and encourage you to support the Canuck Place families by generously donating and participating in this year’s live and silent auction. On behalf of everyone at Nicola Wealth, thank you for joining us and we hope you enjoy a wonderful evening. Sincerely,

John Nicola Chief Executive Officer Nicola Wealth

to our community The Gift of Time Gala presented by Nicola Wealth, has raised over $14.5 million for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice since 2005 and we’re honoured to continue that legacy tonight. We are so excited to bring people together both virtually and in person to support children and families across BC & the Yukon. It has been a long time since we have seen many of you, but we have witnessed and been humbled your unwavering support. On behalf of the Gift of Time volunteer committee, we thank you for standing with us to support the important work of Canuck Place.
